"I think I need my head examined" A camsmomE TR in AUG 2010 <<Updated 11/02/10>&g

So nice to be clean and poop-pee-free! (for now)...

Well after bathing, I left Cam in the room with Mike and went down to Roaring Forks to grab Cam a kid's meal for lunch and refill our mugs. By this time, Mike has become addicted to the Gold Peak White Tea with Citrus (YUCK), but he loves it! When I returned (and let me just say... I strongly disliked the location of our room- south wing- but man was it ever fast to just walk out one door, through the little mountain cave thingy, and right into Roaring Forks- THAT part I liked!) Anyways, when I returned just a few minutes later, mike already had the ribs unpacked and a picnic laid out on the bed. We had an awesome little lunch, noticed Cam doing a couple subtle eye-rubs, and took this as our ticket to take a nap. SUCCESS! family naptime!

We all woke up about two hours later and lounged around the room, watching T.V. and being lazy. Since we pulled off Animal Kingdom Day successfully this morning, we agreed that we "accomplished" what we set out to for the day and were officially "done." However..... after 15-20 minutes of doing nothing around the room I said this: "Babe- we're at DISNEY... Let's DO something!!" So he agreed to let me lead the way tonight, YAY!

Interruption: Has anyone ever seen Stitch wearing Minnie ears??? Here ya go:

I had us all packed up, dressed, and ready in 15 minutes and headed for the lobby- Mission: Downtown Disney! Instead of taking the fastest route to the bus stop through the lobby, we decided to walk outside first, then back to the lobby, so I could get some photos of Mike and Cameran on the lawn- it was beautiful!

Ok so now that I've had my fill of taking pictures, no one, NO ONE, was going to get in my way of getting to the bus stop, or even delay me in any way, I was on a mission, no front desk misunderstandings, no eager DVC guys, no....ooooooooo... Is that a PHOTOPASS GUY?!? I LOVE that they set up a LIGHTED photo shoot area in the lobby by the bridge, I LOVE that it's included as a "normal" photopass picture (so if you've already purchased the CD, you need not shell out MORE money, I LOVE that we had time to take some "relaxed-looking" family pics, but I did not LOVE the photographer. He was horrible. No personality- gave off a very "I do NOT want to be here, I hate everybody" vibe. I tried to not let my disgust show in the photos- I'm talented in this area... Cam? not so much. She has not yet developed her mother's "fake it till you make it" mentality... see?
Photo0084.jpg

Cam was so disturbed by the photo shoot, that we had to take her DIRECTLY to the mercantile to buy her a "LOL-POP." We let her pick ONE out (I say it like that because she picked out a Mickey Mouse lollipop bouquet of FIVE wrapped together- we will live to thank God for this purchase throughout the rest of this trip.)

Ok, lollipop in hand/mouth, we headed for the bus stop to wait (did I say wait?) NO, the bus was there and we got on a nearly empty bus to Downtown Disney with THEE MOST wonderful driver EVER! He was interesting. He was knowledgeable. He was funny, and most of all... HE WAS HAPPY! We arrive at DTD West in about 25 minutes. I think it was about 6:30PM now.

I haven't been to DTD since my bachelorette party at Pleasure Island in 2005, so I just walked around and tried to take in my surroundings. We hit the Christmas ornament shop first, but 10 minutes inside, with me gasping and squeaking every time Cameran touched something, caused us to flee the store without me buying my "first family vacation memento ornament." Oh well, this wasn't even our planned DTD night, so I will get it Friday when we come back. We were pretty hungry, so we headed into Earl of Sandwich for dinner. I ordered the Full Montague (which was awesome) and coleslaw, Mike ordered something with roasted peppers in it (I have temporarily misplaced my journal, and I cannot remember what it was) and pudding. Cameran ate half of my meal, which was convenient. Here are some photos of our meal together.

Mine- YUMMO!

Dinner was simply AMAZING! We will be eating here every trip! Next up? World of Disney! It took us about 3 seconds while walking through the entrance way to realize we were getting sprayed. WOW! Cameran just fell in LOVE with spitting Stitch (I wonder why...) Here's the giant Stitch that spits water at the crowd about once per minute.

and here is my darling daughter's reaction to it

It took us SOOOO long to get her to leave the spitting Stitch and go inside. We finally pulled her away, screaming, and ran into ANOTHER screaming fit when she saw all the decorative "balloons" in the store and didn't understand that they were cemented to the wall/ceiling and could not be taken home with us! Anyways, while we were in the store, Mike was carrying Cameran on his shoulders, and all in one freakishly quick moment, he looked at me with panic in his eyes, and said "Crap!" I said "What?" he said "I told you... CRAP!" Oh Lord- here we go again. Prepare yourselves for a "Father of the Year Moment."

After just having his neck pooped on, Mike runs with Cameran out of the store, down endless, bathroomless alleys, and finally decides to bolt right past the T-Rex CM Staff at the door, locate a men's room in a restaurant he's never even been in, and re-emerge from the men's room with a totally refreshed, clean, changed baby, and look like nothing ever happened. They were in the restroom QUITE a while, so I just stood near the doors waiting for them. It amazed me how many people were SO confused as to which door to go in! The doors read "He-Rex" and "She-Rex" and by golly some people had NO CLUE what that meant. So... I'm a teacher, it's in my blood. I start directing traffic. When I see people approaching, I direct them to their appropriate restroom with a subtle finger-point technique. it was most amusing. Until I saw a couple of folks approaching that well... I just couldn't tell, so I decided it was time to leave the doorway. I found something to take photos of. HAHA

We then sashayed out of the restaurant as quietly and unnoticed as possible.

We decided that since Cam's tummy has obviously not adjusted to WDW foods yet, and we cannot predict the next "episode," we should probably head back to the resort. We left T-Rex and took a pic of Mike and Cam standing with the Lego dragon
DSC_0067-2.JPG

and took a very uneventful bus ride back to the Wilderness Lodge, took a photo of the outside of our room for you (we are the second floor up, second room from the left- curtains are open)

It was about 9:45 (because the electric water pageant was just ending- I'd seen it twice, but mike and cam missed it both times) so Cam was awake but groggy, so I took her out on the balcony to say "hi" to everyone that walked by. and she did. until she fell asleep at exactly 10PM. Mike and I found something on T.V. that we were used to watching at home, so we stayed up until about 11:30. no need to get to bed too early tonight as tomorrow is our "resort day" and Lord have mercy! We're sleeping in!

Stay tuned for Day FOUR: Resort Day- "Stacey's First Slide."

Oh dear, you guys can't catch a break with the "body" functions can you?:lmao: That man of yours didnt' skip a beat though did he....he's a quick thinker!!:cool1:

Great update....love EoS....I could go for a sandwich right now:worship:

I love the smiles Cam had at the spraying Stitch! Those curls!!!! Oh how I love all those curls on her head! Poor Cam, I hope her tummy adjusts soon & there are no more "episodes"! Can't wait to read more!

We sure can't! :rotfl2: He's a very quick thinker. I am truly a lucky chick. (at least that's what HE always says!:thumbsup2

I love those curls too! I wonder if she'll love them or hate them as she gets older... I was reviewing my post and kept scrolling up and down between the pic of Stitch and the 2nd pic of Cam under it... :lmao: the resemblance is crazy!!!

Oh my, your updates never fail to have me rolling on the floor cracking up and my husband thinking I've lost my mind! :rotfl:

URRGH I can't stand rude PP people! It makes me feel so uncomfortable because I'm trying to have fun and be happy in the pictures but they are ruining it.

Awwww Cam with the spitting Stitch...be still my heart! :lovestruc

That's a very...um...interesting purple rock thing. Interesting, indeed... :rolleyes1

LMAO!!!!! You know my mind went RIGHT in the gutter for that pic!!!!!!!!!

At least we're all on the same page... that's precisely why I took that picture. :rotfl2:

Oy... the diaper explosions!! I guess I am so lucky that we just didn't have that with Heidi. I did my time long ago with the older ones and their more "primitive" diapers. Now that Heidi is 8, the minute we arrive in a park, besides the thunderstorm that inevitably shows up.... Heidi always says "mommy!!! I gotta go potty...now!!". Or typically, right when we're near the head of a line for something... or just seated for a show! Just wait for those days. I will never forget the time we were driving through central Texas and Lily was probably about 3 1/2 or so and she said she had to go potty. We were driving as fast as we could to find anything open... finally.. the ubiquitous Dairy Queen... we stopped, I swooped inside with Lily and went to get her pants down and BAM! right in the pants 10 inches before we got to the potty!!! That's your next stage! so sorry! :headache:

Oh no! Your husband does win Father of the Year, for sure. :thumbsup2 Poor Cam! Her little tummy must not have adjusted yet, I hope you are "accident free" from here on out! :thumbsup2

LOVE these pics! I just can't get over how dang cute she is! :cutie:

We love EoS too! Back in 2008, we had a late flight on our departure day so we checked out early and went right to DTD. We were able to get breakfast at EoS and OMG were they good!

I found something to take photos of. HAHA

At first I was like "ooooh! Shiney!" and then I really looked at it!

shelbys mommy said:
So maybe there IS some truth to the phallic & sex images in Disney movies after all:rolleyes1

I've seen the one in The Lion King, I tried to hear the one in Aladdin but I couldn't, and the one on the cover of the original Little Mermaid movie box is up in the air. It looks like it to me but...that's just me! :rotfl2:

And YES! Father of the Year definitely goes to Mike for that quick thinking (and running!) without a panic/meltdown! I can't believe you both got pooped on! Well, at least Cam is an equal opportunity pooper!

Oh no!! Something definitely wasn't sitting well with poor Cam! I love that picture with the flower...how cute! And I don't think I knew that Stitch spit! The look on her face afterwards is priceless!

At least you had a nice, relaxing lunch out of the heat. And got some great pics around the resort! I hope your planned DTD time went much smoother! But what a great Daddy to take care of Cam himself, especially in a situation like that. Usually kids would be handed right to Mommy!

Oh I know. I actually thought we'd be smack in the middle of potty training this trip, but she just wasn't ready I guess...

I think we were. Hmmm. MAN! I need to find that journal!!:upsidedow

So yummy!! Mike tells me now that his sandwich was the "Caribbean Jerk Chicken." He loved it, but it's just not my cup of tea.

Yeah, he's pretty great! :lovestruc

When I was a baby (1yo) my family went to Florida, Disney 1 day and then touring around. I had done the same thing, accidents all over the place. My family went back when I was four and left me home with my Aunt! Can you imagine leaving your youngest home on a Disney trip because of a little diarrhea. No wonder I am Disney freak now, I am still compensating :lmao:
Must be the traveling thing, babies just take a bit to adjust. I am planning for explosions for my 16 month old, thanks to your updates!

heloooo!!! Back from our trip and rested up. Just got caught up and OMG you had me ROFLMAO!!!!! My youngest had an "accident" on our Nov trip. I was holding him while on line for the Great Movie Ride and felt something very warm on my side.. YIKES!!! off the line we go running LOL.

Welcome back! How was your trip??? :goodvibes

It was great thx! My boys are now just as addicted as I am. My DH thinks we are all against him. :lmao: It all went smoothly and suprisingly with out incident until our last night there! My oldest tripped in EP and hit his head on the drums set up just after the Bridge past China. We took him to First Aid by TT and they called the Clinic transport and they took us there. The Dr's glued his forehead closed and shipped us right back to EP to continue touring! :thumbsup2 He was fine by the time we got to France and enjoyed some French Ice Cream. :) But was upset because he was looking forward to one last swim in the CBR pool! I would have been a mess if it wasn't for my DH he truly saved me. I dont handle bleeding wounds so well. & I still for the live of me cant figure out what he could have hit, there was nothing sharp anywhere on the drums?

Oh WOW! I'm glad he's alright! I think I would have lost my mind. Want a little irony? The reason for the title of this TR is because I banged my own head pretty hard the day we were leaving too! I tried not to think about it at all that day, then as I was driving back home on I4 that night, I reached back and felt the back/right side of my head because it was throbbing, and sure enough! huge ball 'o pain! That's when I said to Mike "I think I need my head examined." and he looked over at me and said "Why do you set me up like this- it's just too easy..." :lmao::lmao:

Hi! We are "almost" back from our trip. We flew in late last night but have to drive from Philly to VA. Got in too late to drive back home so I'm in a very nice hotel! :goodvibes I'll fill you in when we get back home. :goodvibes
