I think I might get in trouble over on the cruise board

There was a post about cruising in the time of war.. someone responded that some Americans agree with france or something of that nature. We just had a huge protest in Northampton (city about 30 mins. from our house) the other night that DH had to go and bail out several protesters.. i have a little girl in my preschool class who's dad has been deployed., mom is pregnant due next month, will have to go it alone.. I kinda spouted off- it just gets me so mad how insensitive people can be! My opinion is if you can not support our troups than LEAVE!

So that is why I think I am am in trouble... yikes, but well worth it. Whatever happended to integrety?

Don't beat yourself up over it. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and you have very valid reasons for believing what you do. I do think the majority of people do agree with you anyway.

Don't worry about it. People are allowed to say what they want. If they can insult the President, you can get a little snippy.

And who cares what people think? The disABILITIES forum doesn't like me too much, either.

Now someone was annoyed because I said I thought more of the protesters should have been arrested. This was not a quiet peacefull protest. It was a "die in" where the protesters covered themselves in blood and such and then lay in the streets at a busy intersection with smoke pots depicting what it would look like if Northampton had been bombed. This was close to an elementary school . I feel that the images they depicted are innapropriate to subject children to (especially as there are two active bases nearby and several of those children's parent(s) could be at war) also to prevent people from going about their business is wrong to.

I think the "die ins" should be patrolled by police officers on horseback. It gives them a good view of the crowd and they can maintain better control. Then..when the day is over and the horses have done what horse do, drag the protesters out of the area through the horse droppings. They will get the message.
