I think I messed up my Dollar ressie

Okay, I scheduled a reservation with Dollar. I wasn't paying attention to the times when I did it. I got a ressie for $118 before taxes, etc for a full size. Well, one other time, when my flight times changed, I changed my ressie...no problem...price was the same. Well, this time I went to move it from 1pm to 3pm on both times, and the price went up to $170. :eek:

Here's the deal. My ressie says pick up at 1pm...plane doesn't land until 2:50pm. Is that going to be a problem?

Also, departure takes off at 3:54pm, of course, my drop off is scheduled for 1pm. I guess I can work around that, maybe have lunch at the airport before we leave. Any advise on what to do?
 
If I understood you correctly you listed to pick the car up too early, and return the car too early?

How about calling the car company and asking them to pull up your ressie. Ask them if there is any additional fees to push back the times by an hour or so.:confused3
 
I think I'm going to have to try that. When I do it online, they increase the amount by $60!
 

Well, I decided to go with Alamo. Did some research this morning and I got the same rate WITH and additional driver for free! :cool1:

And for your question, I was trying to "modify" online, not rebook. I actually tried it both ways and it wasn't making a difference. But I did not try to call since I found a better deal with Alamo. Thanks for your help!
 
It's not worth the possible headaches with Alamo in my opinion. Dollar is much better.
 
Same thing happened to me. You need to call and speak to a CSR. They will add your flight to the resservation and when that is done you have 6 hours past the hold time. If they dont have the flight info than they can cancel your ressie at the pick up time. The first CSR I got changed the time and kept the price. Than when I went to change my Father's, the CSR told me that I couldnt change the time and keep the same price but that they would hold the car for the 6 hours. That didnt sit well with me so I called back 2 more times and the second CSR was able to do it. I guess its just a matter of who you speak to sometime's. ;) Good Luck.
 
I always book with Alamo and have never had a problem.

we've used alamo with going to the counter, & as a *********** member. Now that they have the kiosks I'm sure it will be even better:)
 
I didn't sign up for the memebership plan, but I did fill in the "save time" info for DH and I both, so hopefully it will not be too bad. I've signed up for a full size, any ideas what types of cars they have for that group?
