We're going 3rd week in May, just myself and DH.

Mon - arrival @ MCO at 12:30, After hotel checkin, go to MGM
Tue - Magic Kingdom(stay late for Spectro)
Wed - A water park, If we missed stuff at MGM head there in the evening
Thur - Epcot (stay late for EMH)
Fri - Islands of Adventure, Universal (if time but probably not), maybe dinner/stroll on Citywalk (DH has to go to IOA at least...the only reason he's excited about the trip really)
Sat - Animal Kingdom at 8AM for EMH , Pleasure Island in the evening
Sun - Departure

And we'll put DisneyQuest in there somewhere... As well as some resort pool time. :earsboy:

Also, is it possible to get through AK in the morning and go to a water park in the afternoon?

I was wondering if I should switch the water park and Animal kingdom?
We plan to rent a car for a day to go to IOA...but then didnt know if we should try to return it very late at night (what time can you return cars until?) or Sat evening. I don't think we'll have time to return it before going to AK on Sat. We could just drive there ... than that's more money for the car rental... I guess if I switched the water park and AK we'd have more time in the morning to return the car. Or we could just wake up extra early and return the car anyhow at like 6:30 am. I guess when we rent we'll rent from Alamo or National since they are on Disney property and we can take a shuttle or something.

If you plan to do MGM that evening, I would do AK that am... simply b/c it saves you from using that day on the ticket... Instead MGM and AK are considered one day's usage and then do the Water Park later in the trip where you had AK... and use your Water Park ticket... it will save a bit of money. I think you can do AK in a morning or at least be done by 2 at the latest.

we normally do half a day at ak also, we head there early at opening & go straight to kilimanjaro safaris, then the trek, conservation station & kali river rapids to cool off by noon/1.

one thing i would suggest is maybe a late start or day off, like you mentioned for wednesday. we normally have 1 day during our trip that we spend sleeping in, going to the spa, waterpark, other wdw recreation like a tour, parasailing, boating, swimming, resorts or dtd. its a great way to recoup & enjoy your whole vacation.

have fun!

I was wondering where I could fit in another water park - we'd upgrade to a 6 day ticket just to get the 4 pluses (only $4 more !). So if we get done AK we coudl do water park afterwards. AK on saturday is EMH in the morning (8AM).

Do you think we could to water park and then Epcot since Epcot has EMH in the evening?

I created a list of things we'd like to do at each park.

DINOSAUR

Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show

Before I comment on your itinerary, a few questions. What resort are you staying at? Are you purchasing the park hopper feature? Have you all been to WDW before? General ages?

Caribbean Beach
We don't have park hopper tickets. Although we have 1-day left on 2 adult tickets which do have the hopper feature.
I went to WDW last time about 1999, but it was catered around my little sister. DH went when he was 12 or 13. This is our first trip as a couple.
We are 25&26.

Your plan looks pretty good. For the extra 5/6 dollars a day I would go ahead and add the hopper feature. It will give you some flexibility and more options.

Here's what I would do:

Monday: Arrive. Checkin. MGM.
Tuesday: MGM EMH. Leave after lunch. Hang at pool until 4. Head to Magic Kingdom.
Wed: Water Park AM. Back to resort. Magic Kingdom PM and Evening Hours.
Thurs: Water Park AM til 1:00(Typhoon Lagoon is closer to CBR, still a bus ride though) or hit another park. Head to Epcot at 3 til closing with evening EMH.
Friday: IOA til Dinner. DisneyQuest in the PM
Sat: AK AM. Epcot/MGM/MK again.....PI in the PM

Just some other ideas for you to think about. I do like your original itinerary as well.
