I think Disney should start enforcing end times on fastpasses

Maybe we can USE the Elmer's glue to paste our Fastpass on our kids' foreheads. Then we won't miss our precious end times.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Now, about those refillable mugs ....

Since you mentioned it, I might know where you could find a vintage set of 1997 refillable mugs for a rock bottom price.

"She was a good horse, loved and respected by all who knew her...." Forgive me if I jumped the gun.

If it's not Disney's rule, explain to me why the FP has an ending time, and doesn't say come back ex. after 4:30 PM. The hypocritical thing kinda lost me. In all of the years we've been going to Disney, we have never, ever returned after the expiration date of a FP. We've passed up many oportunities to get FP's because we've known we couldn't make it back.

because of people like you that will adhere to the window, the majority of the people will or even try too.....its crowd control....if Disney said come back anytime after 3pm...I am sure the line would get very long at the end of the day and the FP line would probably be longer than the stanby...

Disney also knows stuff happens...you went back to your room for a break and on the way back your bus broke down and caused you to miss your window, your meal took too long, Monorails stopped....any number of things...Disney has tried to make your vacation simple others should try to make it simple for themselves

I for one dont get all wrapped up in the line cutting, late FP, refillable mugs, pool hopping etc etc etc...what others do is on them...I am with my family and there to enjoy them...I learn from DIS and other sites and plan my vacation for me....if 4 poeple run to get in front of me at the line entrance...I stop and let them...WHY cause they are either not enjoying there vacation cause they are rushing around or 2 they are enjoying it so much they dont care about what I am doing and that is perfectly fine...If i sat there pissed cause they got in front of me i probably wont enjoy the ride itself thinking about them getting in front of me...its just one ride vehicle...2 mins of my day...

hookedonears...what you need to take from this thread is to relax and enjoy yourself and not stress over late FPs or anything else because if you are worrying about others your not enjoying yourself and isnt that the point of vacation and Disney...

Well said. Great outlook on the whole, not the little things. ;)

Elmer's glue won't stick. Perhaps only a winning race horse should be beaten so we can get Super Glue out of it and that will stick.

Furthermore, the horse should not be beaten until Chef de France is ready to serve it. It is not good to waste meat.

Thank goodness this one's over now. We can all get back to the: How are the crowds now, or what are the best shoes to wear, or why should I go to rope drop, or, or, or, or?

"Over"?

Did you say "over"?

Nothing is over until WE decide it is. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? . . . . . And it ain't over now.

'Cause when the going gets tough . . . . . . . . . . the tough get going! C'mon, who's with me?

Was it over when Bob Cratchet shot Mr. Scrooge?

Was it over when Toto bit the Wicked Witch?

Was it over when Peter Pan ate the crocodile?

(I've heard the voice of Kate Smith in the distance, however.)

I think you missed the Animal House reference-
Bluto: What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Otter: [to Boon] Germans?

you can ...... All this is, is a debate on ethics. This is the last on this topic for me, so I hope someone can help me with a question I have. Where is Disney's rule that says that I can't send my wife and daughter ahead to stand in line for a particular ride, while I go get FP's for another ride, and then cut in line to join my family when I return. Y'all get pretty enraged on the cutting in line topic, but returning late with FP's is the exact thing. It's nothing but a ethics thing and you can't win that debate. You just have to resort to personal attacks.

I don't know where personal attacks have come in. For the most part, this has been a very civil discussion. My line of reasoning has been...Disney permits it and allows it so it's a moot point. End of debate. You don't seem to respond to this logic.

Yes, the FP does say "Please" return "between the times noted on the other side". However, it clearly states "Cannot accept early arrivals. Valid only on date printed."

Since it does say "please", most people will abide by this request. Note, by saying "please", it is a request and not an absolute.

This reminds me of the on-going debates on the Cruise Lines boards about wearing shorts to dinner. Disney states to wear cruise casual. When defining cruise casual it says "Please no shorts, swimwear or tanktops".

Do guests listed to this request? Well, anywhere from 20% to 50% of the guests at any given dinner on any given cruise wear shorts to dinner. Disney did say "Please". However, as they don't enforce it and train their crew members to tell guests to wear what's comfortable, it is only a request and not a rule. There is a huge difference between a request and a rule IMO.

Are you being "rude" for ignoring a request? That may be an etiquette debate. However, how can it be an ethics issue if Disney encourages and trains CM's to let guests know they can return late. The same thing happens on the cruise ships. Despite the "Please no shorts" request, Disney trains its crew members to let guests know it's okay to wear shorts to dinner.

I bring up this analogy that may seem trivial to illustrate how in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter? Please don't tell me I'm being unethical for following Disney's rules. Enjoy your vacation. :goodvibes

Oh man.......

It appears that reports of this thread's earlier demise were greatly exaggerated............

Cigar was quoting John Belushi in the movie Animal House, hence the line "when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor." I'm sure he knows who really bombed Pearl Harbor.
