My sister was the Queen of - it would make me soooo mad when she would do it to my mother. Now that my mother is gone, she does it to me instead.

I, too, was an eye roller and can remember thinking my mother was ridiculous for getting upset. Now, being on the other side, I can see how annoying it is. You realize the primary goal is to annoy you, so there are two possible courses of action: 1)completely ignore it, or 2)tell her how adorable it is. I mean, make her gag -- "Have I ever told you just how cutesy, wutesy it is when you woll your wittle eyes? I just wuv it, I do. Come on, let's see it some more? Puhleeze?" And try to catch her just before she does it -- "Let's see the wittle eye rolls, okay?" All the while be sure you use the voice you usually reserve for speaking to an infant. Maybe even clap.

You will either start to break her of the habit or at least can get comfort in annoying her as much as she is annoying you!

Good idea, FredS. I got caught rolling my eyes at my mother exactly <b>one</b> time. I think I was 13. I can still feel the sting in my cheek. I never did it (well, I never got caught ) again. Of course, back in the olden days, when I was 13, parental discipline was very different than it is today.

When DD rolls her eyes into the back of her head I have to fight the urge to smack the back of her head and roll the back to their proper position!! Yes, DS was easier!! I am having a hard time explaining these uppity hormones to her daddy!!

I have a DS (16) that does that and says "whatever"and at times I would like to poke his eyes back to where they belong. Only problem, he wears glasses!

I am really glad I have boys!!!!!

Boy do I have a long way to go............My DS 5 is the King of "whatever". He says it as he's rolling his eyes and then stomps out of the room. DD 7 loves to roll her eyes too. Hers is more of the eyes roll and then slams her bedroom door shut. They both make me sometimes!!!

My 12 yo DS has perfected this. My 11 yo and 9 yo DS are following in his footsteps. The 7 yo DS isn't too bad with it.......yet. It drives me insane!

I've heard of a great cure for door slamming. Go calmly to the door with a screwdriver and take the door off the hinges and put it away for a week. That'll teach 'em!
As for the rolling of the eyes I liked the suggestion of treating like it's the cutest thing you've ever seen. Kids hate that!
