It appears that VMK Central is really getting tight with the cards.

As I waited behind two other guests a family came up and asked the women in front of me for their completed quests (HSM & Tomorrowland) when they were done. It looked like the women were going to say no when the CM cut in and said that it is now policy to keep all the completed quests. The mom of the family got a little snooty when she was denied the quests then left.

The CM also stated to the women in front of me that he would not give out any cards unless the guest was standing at the counter - and then proceeded to give them the cards anyway...:confused3

I was unable to get anything because I had recently turned in all the quests. I did ask about the new cards and he gave the standard reply saying that we (the game players) would know before any of them did.

So, as of today Feb 14th no new cards.

The policy requiring that all persons doing the Quest be present has more or less been in effect since the Holiday Quest last December. The keeping completed quests seems to be pretty new. It happened to me at WDW 2 weeks ago and again at DLR last weekend. They kept the quests I printed at home AND the Animation Quest too. They did return the Well card.

My advice is to bring some extra quests in case all the people in your party can't be there at the same time.

When I was in WDW shortly after New Years they had kept my printed from home quests but not the ones I got there and scratched off. I had no idea that this was not the common practice since that was my first time questing at a park lol.

Last week, at WDW, they also kept *all* the quests I'd had, both the scratch offs and the print at home ones. I think this is probably the new "standard" policy and would suggest that every one take extras in case they are needed.

what about people who collect Ephemera?

I have all scratch off quest cards except the new animation viewer and I would want to keep at least 1 that has not been scratched off.

Can you get 1 to keep?

I guess i'm lucky. They've never taken any of the quests from me. I always ask for them back and they do.

Mal, it's easy enough (at DLR at least) to get an extra one. When you first go up to the Kiosk to get your uncompleted quest they are right there for the taking. Just ask for/take one for each member of your party+1 (or +10  ). They don't count that closely. Then when your finished just keep the extra. And/or ask for your quest back... Worked for me...

I was at DLR on 02/10 and took the Animation Quest with some friends (a group of four). When we arrived we all picked up a copy of the new Animation Quest as well as the Pirates and Frontierland Quests (they were out of Adventureland :sad1: ). We stepped aside and between the four of us we were able to answer all the questions in a couple mintues. We scratched off the others as well. I already had HSM and Tomorrowland printed and filled-out from home. We returned to the Kiosk and showed one set of all five quests along with our four APs. One of my party had taken the bundle in December so she only got the Animation Viewer. The rest of us were over 90 days and got all quests and a miniscule "bonus pack" (like five cards) with the green wristband. We also all got a pair of Fast Passes (yes, even my December-quest-taking friend as she hadn't accepted her FP at that time).

The cast member made a move to take the bundle of quests we turned in, though made no effort towards the ones my friends were clearly holding. I asked if I could please keep my Animation Quest (the one we turned in). The girl said she wasn't supposed to let them go... something about they don't want the completed quests to litter the park. As she was saying this two other CMs came up to relieve her and she turned to them for approval. The apparently superior member repeated that they weren't suppsed to, but smiled and made a show of "looking away" and I was given back my completed Animation Quest. Besides my one polite request I didn't have to beg or fight to get it it.

Note also that I asked all the CM I saw at the Kiosk and in Innoventions about the new Mickey-furniture cards displayed on the Kiosk and, of course, they all knew nutzing.

I have some family coming in from out of town at the end of Feb and we're all going to DLR. Though I won't be able to take any quests on my AP (unless they have Adventureland back), my Aunt, Uncle and Grandma will just have regular park passes. I'll get them to "take all the quests" and get one of those sets (the other two going to my parents who play, heh). I'm hoping they have the new Winter/Mickey Window cards by then...

When I was just there I also did not know the new rule and handed him all of my quest including my only adventureland quest, (as long as you still had a quest they would give you the cards) sooooooo he stacked all my cards up but I could tell it was a little thin so I went through them and sure enough no adventure land or (can't remember the other one) I asked him what was up and he said they were out and it was over, so I asked for my adventureland quest back and he said NO! so don't give it to them unless you plan to never see it again:sad2:

We haven't been over to WDW since right before Christmas, but they have never made sure everyone was there at the time for us. DD and I completed the Holiday Quest for DH because he couldn't go with us that day and we didn't have any problems with getting cards for him when he wasn't there at the time with us. No one even questioned the fact that we were turning in three of each of the quests when there were only the two of us. Maybe this is different because we have the resident passes? However, our quests have always been kept by the folks at VMK Central at WDW. We have never asked for them back either, though. Maybe the rules vary based on who is at the register at the time.

The "official" new rules at DLR are:

- A person must be present at the VMK Central Booth for each ticket / pass that you are using to get quest cards.

- They will keep all quests that are turned in unless there is a code or prize on the quest "brochure." Ex: POTC quest has the well card and the extra credits code so you get to keep that.

- If you get the answers wrong on a quest, they are not to give you the correct answers and you are not to get them from the next person in line. (However, this one has lots of "wiggle room" if you are nice and handle it appropriately.)

Most cast members very strictly follow these rules.

The Fantasyland quest is gone.
The Adventureland quest seems hit and miss, but most likely gone very soon if not already.

I will be at DLR on Saturday, so correct me if I am wrong, I will need the following papers/quest cards:

Adventureland Card
Frontierland Card
Pirate Quest Card
Animation Quest Card
HSM print out
Tomorrowland print out

That is all of them correct? Let me know if I am missing something.

I believe they are out of the Adventureland Quest, Iris. So, ask if it is still valid before you hand them your quest card. It sounds like they are taking everything you hand them and not giving it back.

BTW, did you set up a DIS meet? There are lots of locals that enjoy meeting other DISers when you come to Disneyland.

I go to WDW alot, and complete quests. The only keep the Special codes. I usually get the quests back:surfweb:

When we went in January they kept the pdf's, which I asked to get back and ended up just tearing off the Toontown code. They only needed one filled out quest per group of tickets, and I did not have our whole party of 9 there to redeem the quests. We asked about one of the animation questions, who someone was, and though I was not looking for the answer to the quest question, the CM told me what was NOT the answers. In spite of asking a few ppl about the last question we guessed wrong, but I was allowed to change it at the desk to my second , correct, guess.

I believe i got 3 cards from each of the main quests. Tomorrowland was available for the asking since you can no longer access it on the website. Only that and the pirate well cards were behind the desk.

Wanted posters are only for pictures now, and upon asking I got three cards and my kids later got one each. They were not on the desk and it was crowded.

Hope that helps.
