Yay, I'm so excited that they sold! :cool1: They didn't sell for much, but I'm still happy with the auction. I'd like to start selling more items but I'm not quite sure where to go from here.

So a couple of ?'s for the ebay expert sellers out there. What kinds of items do you sell? I'm thinking of just general things around the house, baby/toddler stuff, some of my overwelming scrapbooking supplies. Do you think these will sell okay or would it be better to do garage sales with them?

Do you spend the extra $$ to make you auction stand out/look pretty? Do you think that increases your sales? Any other advice I haven't thought of?

Thanks so much for your help!

I'd definitely put these on Ebay. Just look at completed sales for the items you want to sell. That will tell you whether or not ebay is worth it.

I have always listed straight through Ebay. I think if you have something someone wants, a fancy page won't affect the auction. Good pictures, good descriptions, and positive feedback are more important, IMO.

Thanks for your advice so far!

How would I do that? Is it just looking at the ending the soonest auctions or is there a way to see auctions that have already ended? :confused3

Do an advanced search and click the button that says completed items :flower:

Congratulations! What did you sell and how much did they go for? People can give you better tips if they look at your completed auction and see what you did well...and suggest what might be improved.

PoohBearLovinMama ~ Congratulations on your sales! I know you'll enjoy selling.

I've been selling for about two years and recently posted on another thread asking for suggestions on what to sell. BESUNNYSIDEUP was nice enough to reply and suggest checking out "The Queen of Auctions" site. It's a great site! She has a listing of things that sell well! Here's the link to that site:

And, thanks again to BESUNNYSIDEUP for sharing the info!

Welcome to the wonderful world of E-bay.

I've been selling since 1997, but took a L-O-N-G hiatus, and am just now getting back into the fray once more.

I'm currently looking to sell Quality Plus sized items, and other things I come across... now if only they would list themselves. :)

GOOD LUCK!

Me too!! I started in 1998, and was very active selling for several years - those TY beanie babies supported us thru many, many of our 2 DS's out-of-state soccer tournaments - airfare/hotels/food!! Then I backed off selling for several yrs, and bought occasionally. Now am back into starting to sell again - those college bills don't pay themselves!! :rotfl: I'm waiting a few weeks, as I have lots of kids back to school clothing items, nwt, to list (I hit some really great sales end-of-the fall/winter season) but it stil seems a bit slow right now for those, according to the completed auctions. Probably in a few weeks. I also have lots of my own household itmes to sell -have been doing a major cleaning out and down-sizing this summer. (I have to be in the mood for that, and I am really in the mood this summer -I just want to de-clutter!!)

I agree about the listing -that is such a time-consuming chore. Have you had any experience with turbo-lister?
