I SO wish I had just bought through Disney

I'm really starting to think that we are not supposed to be members. We tried to call Bernard since we have talked with him in the past, but just not ever bought. He is on vacation this week.
We tried to call the phone number on the DVC website and it states that their office is currently closed, but gives the office hours as 9-9. Hello!? It is between those hours now...........
This has been a tremendous pain in the hiney!

Bernard is my rep. I have purchased 12 add on's through him. He is wonderful!
As soon as he gets back he will be in touch with you. Sorry you have to wait, but I can attest to the fact that if you do, you will have one of the more attentive and prompt reps in the system.

Good luck.

Deb

Thank you! Yes we know we have a great guide. We have talked to him several times on the phone and think he gave us our tour back in '91 or '93. He has always been very helpful. That is why we really do not want to go with another guide. So we will just wait a few more days to become DVC members.:woohoo:

To Robert H. This is Robert from The Timeshare Store. Our apologies that your closing didn't happen by the closing date of 8/11/08 and you had to cancel. Unfortunately, the sellers were in a divorce situation and they were late in having the final documents notarized and back to the closing company. They had returned their initial documents on 6/19/08 after you had made the purchase on 6/14/08. The final documents (having them notarized) were the issue.

This was an unusual situation. Out of the 750 DVC resales we have closed this year, this is the first that I am aware of that has canceled because of the sellers failure to comply with the contract.

I apologize that we were not able to make this DVC purchase happen for you.

I hope you enjoy your DVC membership.

Robert at The Timeshare Store, Inc.®

We purchased our first two contracts in 2001 through TTS with quick smooth transactions...and a substantial savings compared to Disney pricing.
We then purchased two add-ons thru Disney because we wanted a specific number of points for specific use years. Our Disney salesperson was a bit hard to reach, but once we coordinated with him those transactions were also quick and smooth.
We recently sold both add-ons through TTS and those transactions were quick and smooth, and we made money!!!
So accolades to TTS and also to Disney. There can be pluses and minuses no matter how you buy, but those DVC vacations are great either way.

Thanks, Robert. I completely understand that it was no fault of yours or TTS and do not blame y'all in the least. I know it was the sellers' issue of not being able to get the papers back in time- possibly losing track of time due to other issues they are going through.

Thank you for the well wishes!

You may be the only one who canceled, which I doubt, but not the only one who has had issues with sellers returning final docs. I know many who had this problem and waited months, some were not notified at all. I don't think they realized that they had the option to cancel. I know someone right now who is waiting for sellers docs after sending her money in a month ago. It happens at all the agencies. Some of these resellers have you sign an extension to the contract right off the bat as part of your initial paperwork.

I am in the same situation..I still have not heard anything from GMAC. After being told 2 days ago that they were contacting the sellers and would call me back. I have written an e-mail asking for my $$ back if the contract is not signed and in there hands.. . I am beyond upset with the lack of response from anyone. They have had my $$ since July 6th and no one seems to care that my closing was supposed to happen on 7/28. It was a small contract and not a lot of $$ so maybe that is the issue. Oh well I tried..

And that would be the person I was referring to! DVCnewsgirl, I am so sorry this hasn't worked out for you!!
