I am almost embarrassed to ask this:laughing: I have been on the board for almost 6 yrs, I have been a DVC member for almost 6 years, and I'm a travel agent, so I feel I should have this answer.:rotfl: Well, in my defense, I havent been an agent long, havent book a WDW for anyone yet. Just my own DVC trips.

Ok, we have a trip booked to SSR for 8 days in Dec, we had been talking about cancelling it, and we still MAY, we have until 11/1 to cancel and move the DVC points around. We are trying to do things as inexpensive as possible.
I know we could cook in the room, but it's not how we vacation, not yet anyway. We we decided to add the dining plan (we cant get it free @ DVC:headache:) I've never done the dining plan, never thought it was for us, still don't know:confused3 but we're gonna give it a shot (this is all assuming we dont cancel)
My AP expired already, I'm not getting a new one, I can get a 7 day hopper for $180 w/my TA discount. But I can't get it for fiance. He still has his AP, he will renew because it's only gonna be like $80 more than the 7 day hopper for him.
We are used to having the TIW card. Since he has AP, can you get TIW card to discount what the plan doesnt cover?
For example, we booked Sanaa for my birthday dinner.
Apps arent covered, but we love the bread svc
booze isnt covered , but they have our fav S African wine(we cant get it @ home)
Can you use the plan (apps, dessert) on one check
and bread svc wine w/TIW on another check?

TIA, I appreciate the help.

Thanks for the quick reply:thumbsup2 And for giving me the answer I wanted:woohoo: Great!

I would crunch some numbers and see if the TIW discount would work better and completely skip the DDP.

You know, thats what we were just sitting here thinking about.
Does anyone have a good method of crunching the #'s? Just look at the menus, thinking about what you might order and figure it out that way?
I think if we didn't drink, the DDP might work, but there are a few restaurants where we want wine to go along with it, and places we love beer, so you may be right.
My reasoning for doing the DDP, is we could try different places-we haven't tried Tutto cause it's so expensive, but if we go there and add in a bottle of wine, and cappuccino after the meal, might be better w/TIW?

I'm so confused, lol, wish I never even thought of the DDP for this trip. Just trying to be economical but still eat in places we like or want to try.

That's what I did last year (it was a pain). We have never done the DDP, but I just wanted to see how it shook out. For what we had planned that trip, it looked to be a wash between the DDP and the TiW card. Considering that the TiW is so much more flexible and covers drinks too, we didn't do the DDP.

Thanks, Vicki, I'm leaning towards TiW instead..Which means I'll have to cancel some ressies, like Tutto, too expensive:sad1: Don't think I can afford TS every night.

Pardon the double post

Decided the heck w/the DDP, fiance will buy the TIW.

We cancelled Tutto, Raglan Road, Turf Club

We are doing a meal offsite, 1st time ever:rotfl: with some friends that are staying @ SSR too, and whom love an offsite Mexican place.
And meeting them 1 night@ Poly for sushi.

If we did the dining plan we'd be tied into that and would miss 2 meals with friends we care about and dont get to see enough:goodvibes

We might still end up @ Turf Club for lunch or dinner, we're staying there.
Raglan we end up doing even when we say we are gonna try something different:rotfl:

TIW is good enough for us! (This is all still assuming we'e going:rolleyes1)
