I was at WDW last week with my son and grandson and saw Scoop. He was riding on the hourse drawn carriage with some guests. I waved and he hopped off and I got a great hug.
I told him I wasn't doing pins on that day, I had some in the room but it was Nicky's day at MK and I didn't want to take time for pins. I told him I didn't have pins that day to trade with him and he said "well we have to take care of that" and he handed me a lanyard with some of the best pins on it. A CTT, A Mickey framed pin, and tons of Hidden Mickey pins, along with a Body Wars pin and a few other older pins.
I kept all of them, I couldn't decide which I wanted to trade because they were all so great.
Also, when the time comes I will let you all know but our Scoop is going to be in a movie. He told me who was starring in it and I think it was Penelope Cruz but don't quote me on that, I have this dumb chemo brain still and sometimes I forget things. If anyone sees Scoop and can get more info let us know. I know I will be in line waiting to see him on the big screen.

That is so exciting! I haven't ever seen Scoop. I have no idea what he looks like.

We saw and chatted with Scoop at the Family Parade yesterday, and no, i did not remember to ask about his movie role.
He told us he missed his chats, so I asked if contacting Disney might help. So, for those of you who have supported the pin talks and enjoyed your experiences with Scoop, how about dropping a letter to WDW ? Will post our Scoop pictures when we get home. Caroline

At the September event, one of the pins (Item 44 - a Super Jumbo pin) has Mickey dressed as Scoop. So not everyone at Disney has forgotten him. I loved his talks; I think a letter writing campaign is a great idea.

Scoop Sanderson is a Main Street character - you'll see him during parades, singing with the Dapper Dans Barbershop quartet, chumming with the Mayor, interacting with the people - but to many of us more veteran pin enthusiasts, he is/was Disney's pin ambassador. He gave pin chats on certain days, was giving and wonderful to kids of all ages and is/was a true gentleman.
There are some who did not enjoy his pin chats as much as others, and that is fine, but to many of us he displayed true Disney magic.
I do plan to write to Disney and express my interest in restarting the pin chats. Caroline

We did not enjoy Scoop's pin talk at all. He mainly yelled at the audience. Not my idea of fun - way too much other stuff to do in the park. I have no idea why his character is in the park.

Lucas you made your point very clear (multiple times) that you hate Scoop and all things related to Scoop so there's no need spread the hate and negativity on two threads.

Now back on topic. My wife and I saw Scoop at the Emporium this past Friday he was pleasant and more than happy to see us and whoever was there. We played secret pin trader and had a very positive experience. I miss his pin talks and I told him so and he suggested that we write letters to get them back one day. Other than that it was a very good time.

Swamp Fox - we must have been there about the same time on Friday... the Family Fun Parade had just finished. He did give my DH and I some pins to pass on to others and gave each of us a CTT (Continuing The Tradition) pin - DH's was this years pin and mine was from 2006. Caroline

Who is Scoop ?

A REAL DIP !!

Just my experience when "I saw Scoop."

It is a shame they are stopping these pin talks. I really did enjoy the guest interaction. I guess for now I will look for him on the street.

Thanks for that picture. I'll be looking for him next time now that I know what he looks like.

He is the true spirit of Disney in every way. We loved his pin talks and have missed seeing him around the park. It seems every time we're there, he's not. It's nice to know what he's been up to. Way to go, Scoop!!
