I remember...

I remember the mission to the moon, and you got to stand in front of the "control" room and the anamtronic flight controller told you when to board!

I remember pink and blue Mickey balloons that weren't inside another balloon.

I remember not knowing what rides would be down during our trip until we showed up and saw them listed outside the ticket booth. (BIG disappointment all around when POTC was on that list.)

I remember Videopolis. Specifically the video "Walkin' on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. (Long live the 80s. :cloud9:)

I remember orange Frontier Freezes. And how sad we were when they were no more.

I remember my favorite restaurant -- Casa Mexicana -- and eating a hard shell taco, an enchilada, a side salad, and a piece of chocolate cake by candlelight (real fire) at night while listening to the whistle of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I remember when there were more performers -- like The Pointer Sisters singing on one of the rafts.

I remember the Motorboat Cruise. And when they ruined it by giving it a Gummi Bears theme.

I remember getting separated from my family. Alice waited with me in front of "it's a small world" until my family realized I was missing and came to find me. Just me and Alice.

I remember Michael Iceberg playing "Chariots of Fire" on his Iceberg Machine in that theater in Tomorrowland with folding blue chairs. (Where was that? Behind the Space Mountain escalator?)

I remember the Space Mountain escalator. :)

I remember riding the Skyway and thinking they should really do something to the tops of the Fantasyland buildings to make them more pleasing to look at.

I remember running up the steps of the Fantasyland Skyway Station at dusk when I was 6 years old and wishing that day would never end.

I remember this tiny little girl (me) holding my 6' 5" daddy's hand as we boarded my first roller coaster, Space Mountain, I'd ever ridden. Getting off with a smile on my face, looking up at my daddy he said, "did you have fun?". I nodded. He continued, "good, because that's the last time this old man is riding that ever again." He leaned down, picked me up into his arms and gave me a big hug. We never discussed that moment again. I miss him, but love him with all my heart for creating the most memorable DL experience in my life.

I remember America Sings, and going on it/seeing it three times in a two day trip. I loved that show. I go visit Splash Mountain just to say hi to my old friends. (Okay, I love the ride for itself as well.)

I am loving this thread! Some of these have been mentioned, but I still like to remember them myself!

I remember.
...not being sure if I wanted to see the abominable snow monster as we went through the matterhorn on the skyway (sometimes I closed my eyes instead).
...being disappointed because the matterhorn was -always- closed for construction/ refurbishment when we went to Disneyland.
...a long line to ride on the original sub ride.
...booking it (or being dragged along at fast speeds when I was still small) to Space Mountain at rope drop for the first ride of each day.
...discovering that there was something up INSIDE the castle finally (only to have them close it a year or two later!)
...not loving the Country Bear Jamboree (I wanted to go on rides!)
...the amazement of seeing Fantasmic when it first started.
...my family distracting the CM and sneaking me on BTMRR on my first trip (at almost 4) because I was too short to ride.
...the Disney Afternoon Avenue with characters from DuckTales and Talespin.
...Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
...The Rocket Rods constantly breaking down, and waiting in a really long line for them.
...my dad getting us all up super early so we could be the first ones in line when the gates opened (before early entry existed)
...when Splash Mountain opened and it was the coolest thing ever.
...when Indiana Jones opened and it was the coolest thing ever now.
...catching glimpes through the fence and then climbing up to the viewing platforms as we watched CA be built over several trips.
...getting to see all the characters without official lines or places.
...watching the "back side" of the fireworks from the benches over by BTMRR.

When Space Mountain started out being pitch black, then lightened up a bit in the 80s/90s and now back to pitch black.

I had forgotten about that! I remember not liking to be able to see the track in front, and it not being an issue the last few times! :)

Speaking of Space Mountain...I remember the giant spinning "chocolate chip cookie" asteroid.

This thread is so much fun! It's awesome to go through the posts and be like 'Oh yeah! I remember that!' :)

I remember watching Mickey climb the Matterhorn, and by the time he got to the top, Goofy had eaten all his lunch.

I remember strawberry fields instead of the parking structure.

Wow! So many great memories.

I remember most of them; I will only add ones I have seen and a few favorites worth repeating. We went many times in 70's & 80's.

I remember staying at Disney's vacationland campground; first place I ever saw a video game.
I remember walking to the park from the campground past the driving range and picking up all the golf balls at the fence edge.
I LOVED the Carousel of Progress.
I was too young to actually remember the Montsano House of the Future, but I do remember when you could still look at pieces from it when exiting Space Mountain.

BUT...my favorite was seeing the Monkees (well technically Dolenz, Jones, Boyce and Hart, but Peter Tork was also there that night) on July 4, 1976! I still have our "America on Parade" left over tickets/ticket books.

My first trip was in 1979, my most recent trip was in 2004.

I remember parking in the main lot and taking the tram in.
I remember riding Space Mountain with my dad with the lights on all the way.
I remember being terrified of the Haunted Mansion (in 1988 when I was 15...)
I remember Bear Country Jamboree and loved all the songs they sang.
I remember staying at Peter Pan Motel when I was 5 (my first trip)
I remember my first souvenir, a stuffed Elliot from Pete's Dragon

I remember:
* the Space Mountain escalator too!
* the people mover -- ugh, so didn't like that
* the Skyway -- hated those too
* The old Golden Horseshoe Revue shoe with the false teeth being spit out
* Mickey's Nutcracker performed on the stage near IASW. It was awesome!
* being stuck on HM -- that broke down a lot
* touring the apartment that is now the dream suite
* watching a groundskeeper wade into a pond by the castle to round up some ducklings and mama duck who had apparently already gotten into a few scrapes (or maybe they didn't want to feed the cats!)
* When it was buy a bride in POTC and the men chased the women just 'cause that is what scurvy pirates did. And I remember when they added food to try and overcome the sexist tones. :rolleyes2
* when Splash Mountain opened
* when ToonTown wasn't there
* when DCA opened -- and was lame
* when 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea ruled the submarines
* the Country Bear Jamboree

I remember not having enough E tickets to ride the bigger rides.
