We will be there in a month and I'm just not so sure.

I will ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I don't like Space Mountain but have ridden it.
I don't like Rock N Rollercoaster and won't ride it again.

I LOVE TEST TRACK!!!!!!

I wouldn't do Hulk, nope wouldn't even try.

So how is it? Is it super fast like RNR? What about getting dizzy in all those curves you see on the video? Big drops don't bother me its mostly curves and going round and round. I can't stand the dizzy feeling.

Is there alot of stopping and starting? I could probably handle that better.

I just don't know. I'm a big fradey cat.

I think you will like it. It is very similar to BTMR but its smoother and in some spots its faster. But yes there is stopping and starting. Actually when you get to the "broken" track part you are stopped as the track moves to send you backward. That is the only part that is intense as you are moving backward pretty quickly and its mostly dark (and cold!!) then you stop again (as the track is switching again to send you over the "big" drop) when you are stopped you see a shadow of the Yeti tearing up the tracks then you go down the "big" drop (forward) and from there its like BTMR just a lot faster and smoother. I say try it once and if you don't like it dont do it again.

OK - I am a HUGE weeny. HUGE. I will admit that while I ride Splash I would get all worked up about that drop and scared and freaked out. I rode Everest this past Monday. I wasn't scared. Mainly because I knew that I just had to experience it once and Mickey wouldn't kill me. Also the whole thing was a basic mystery.

So here is my SPOILER experience from what I can remember.....

You get in the train and go for a little slow jaunt through the countryside. How lovely. This is nice, go around a nice little turn and now you go up that large ascent that you can see between the village and the mountain. Now this is scary if you are afraid of heights. I am. The thing is they designed this so your car completly covers the track so from your POV, it is like you are almost suspended in air. If you look over the side (which I never had the huevos to do) you could see straight down - no track. From this elevation you can see MGM and Epcot and Elvis and Jesus. I breathed and felt proud of myself for not closing my eyes.

Then you go into the mountain and pick up speed. This ride is fast. I like RnR coaster and I'm not a thrill coaster person. I think it helps that I cant see the track and there is rock music. However that coaster does make me dizzy (because of the inversions along with the fast switches) this coaster did not give me that sick feeling. Anyway, it is fast. But is it is smooth. No jerking around.

You do some nominal turns and dips and then you come out onto the outside of the mountain and the track is twisted in front of you. You approach this slow. You stop. You stay there for a few seconds. Now you are going backwards. The track switched like a railroad siding behind you so what you are seeing is not what you were just through. You see a shadow of a Yeti tearing up tracks. Guess he is mad. Deb Willis is right. Don't put your head against the head rest when going backwards. It prevents your head from vibrating.

Then you go forward, you are heading out. You go down and down and down and I screamed the entire time like a little girl or a rabbit caught by a bear or something. I found screaming helped alieviate stress. You bank to the left. Now here is the weird thing. On most coasters I HATE those drops because you get that "my stomach is coming out of my mouth" feeling. I didn't get that here. I chalk that up to the speed with the smoothness and the banking motion. You do another little bit, now look to your left real quick or you are going to miss the Yeti. He is really cool. Not scary at all. You slow and then it is done. It is really short. The ride cant be longer than 2 minutes. Needs more Yeti.

All my adernaline was going and I was wobbly for walking for about 3 minutes. Would I go on it again? Yes. There isn't any round and round or dizzyness. Like I said before, keeping your head off the rest while going backwards and that eliminates the vibration issue.

I don't do Space at WDW (but will ride at DL) because the one at WDW makes me sick. Now I looked at Splash and think "ahhh, look at the wee drop". I rode BTMRR and thought it was still fun but was kinda tame. That coaster has more up and downs and side to sides than Everest does. If you are fine with the drop, I think you will be fine.

We didn't think it was too intense and would definately ride it again. We aren't big roller coaster people either and had a great time. I would recommend trying it once to see.

I have motion sickness and it did make my head hurt a little. I can ride BTM, TT, SM, but only rode RnR once. I can not ride star tours/body wars. Yes the ride was smooth, but I guess unless you have motion sickness will you understand. I was good until we started backwards in the dark, it through my balance off, but fortunately it is very short. The banking of the turns bothered me a little, but that also bothers me on BTM (when you circle inside the tunnel). I was not ill at the end of the ride, so was happy about that. I will probably try it again in the future, but will pick and choose my days. My hubby loved it and rode it 5 times. We went to AK 4 times during our 8 day stay and it was open every time we were there. We were in WDW Feb. 2-10. I describe the ride as RnR meets BTM (without the loops).

I'm not the bravest of the brave. I haven't ridden Mission Space, nor will I. I also will never be caught dead or alive on Hulk. I love RnR, TOT, BTMR and Space. Oh, and Splash. I loved EE!!! Yes, it's a little dizzying, but really only during the backwards sequence. It's so smooth. The attraction is so well done you must try it. The speed isn't that much of a factor...I would guess it might go 50 mph. The drop is big, but lots of fun!

It's not that bad...

If you want to see a great video of the ride to give you an idea if you can handle it, go to bigfloridacountry.com/everest.htm. We will be there in June & my DD9 wants to go on it. I'm going to show her the video so she'll know what to expect as she will be riding adult coasters for the first time while down there. What better way to break her into the coaster world than to ride RnR, EE and SM. THe ride looks smooth, although with some of it being in the dark it's hard to tell what's going on in the mountain. But the sound of everyone screaming and laughing makes me think everyone will enjoy it.

Agreeing with the others. It was very smooth, not jerky at all. It reminds me very much of Big Thunder Mountain RR. I also liked RR, and BTMRR. I am a fan of rollercoasters for fun not the thrills of tossing cookies or being scared out of my mind. EE is not as fast as RR. You won't know if you like it unless you try it.

I know this is off topic, but just for future reference - never ever ever ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man at Islands of Adventure, if you can't stand spinning. I rode that and the ride vehicle spinned so much, I was stuck on a bench for an hour! :crazy2: I rode the Hulk and screamed with my eyes closed the whole time. And yes, I will never ride it again! RnR is about it for me. I'll be interested in how Expedition Everest is. I hear it is like the Mummy at Universal (except that one goes upside down? gosh I can't remember!)

Please tell me that ride don't go upside down. I don't like coasters that go upside down.

no it doesn't (I just said people compare it to the Mummy, but I think *that* one goes upside down - except I can't remember :rotfl: but it does go backwards)

no upside down on Everest.
just backwards. :)

We just rode the mummy it is great!! BUt it does NOT go upside down!:)

Good Good. That mean I can ride the ride.

You have to go on it once if anything but to say "I went on it!"

I went on it two weeks ago and do not like any roller coasters or anything like them. This ride was fabulous and I would go on it again in a heartbeat!
I even bought a mug to prove I was there! Should have taken a picture too!

I also went on Space Mountain and I haven't been on it since I was is college (a long, long time ago)! I earned the respect of my ten year old niece!

You will have a blast!

So, tobie.........if I am a Big Thunder fan, will I like this one??? :confused3

How do you enter the ride? Do you step into it like Splash Mountain? Or zero entry like BTM? IS there a bar at the waist, or an over head bar that goes over your head/shoulders?

Please advise.

Thank you.
