I really need advice/info about trip insurance.. pretty please

I might even be too late to get it..

We leave on 11/30 for 7 days.. it's me, DH, DS (3).

Honestly, what I'm most nervous about is one of us coming down with the flu or a really, really bad cold that would prevent us from going.

Can I still get trip insurance that would even cover things like this? Where should I look for it?

I've never done this before so you will have to dumb it down for me

I would call whomever I booked the trip with to see if I could purchase trip insurance. If you went through Disney I believe you still have time to purchase.

Type in 'travel insurance' online, and I know that there is one site that will pull up all the major carriers, and even compare what their premium should be.

On our Disney Cruise a few years ago, Access America was way cheaper than what they offered.

Our next trip is a non-Disney cruise. It was all about the same price, so we did take the cruise lines coverage (Just in case!).

I know that there is a limit of time of when to buy. When my parents purchased it, they had to purchase the insurance right around their booking time. If you wait too close to the trip, the insurance company thinks that you might already be coming down with an illness and trying to buy when you already know you are sick.
