We came down to FL early to meet my brother and his whole family (wife, daughters & husbands, & the grandkids) at Bonnet Creek at the end of September. They stayed in a drop-dead spectacular 4 BR, 4 bathroom suite. He got us a gorgeous 1BR, pool view, villa in the Presidential tower with them. Both villas were very high end, with lots of granite and beautiful decor, certainly more upscale than the BWV, but it just wasn't the same as staying on property.
With the BWV, we walk to both Epcot and DHS, so convenient. Our seasonal pass doesn't include parking, so that was $14 a day that we never have to pay staying onsite. No EMH for us and we are early risers, so by the time the parks opened, there were already plenty of people there.
Don't get me wrong, we had a great time, Bonnet Creek is a beautiful complex and we did not have one problem (except for the timeshare pitch harrassment, three times in five days when we told them we weren't interested from the beginning). I never turn down an opportunity to go to or meet up with someone at Disney World, so we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if the occasion presented itself, but I sure missed my BWV.
Does anybody else find that offsite accommodations leave just a little bit to be desired, no matter how beautiful? When you stay offsite for any reason, what do you miss most about your DVC?
