Remember my post regarding my wisdom tooth that at age 29 decided to come in....guess what happened today.....yes- all within the same day

I was eating a bagel.....broke 2 teeth.......2 molars. One top one bottom.....broke both of them about in 1/2 at the gum line- WONDERFUL. These were rebuilt teeth, the porcelin I paid a mint for- I spit out after they broke. The rebuild was about 13 years ago, so I guess they lasted quite awhile.

Tonight- I'm at soccer, my upper gum starts killing me. I feel around with my tongue- and almost puke. Nice puss filled pack cleared out with my tongue...WONDERFUL....that molar- is loose, due to the infection under it. Isnt this wonderful. Here I thought my lymph nodes were swollen due to the wisdom tooth...silly me for thinking it was that simple

So now, I've got 4 extractions to pay for 2 top 2 bottom, 3 on my left 1 on my right......3 of them will have to be surgically removed, the wisdom and now the 2 that broke at gum line. They wont be pulled the normal way due to fear they will crumble...sorta like a toilet missing 1/2 its bowl would if you tried to squeeze it with vise grips I'd asume.

I think I'll be paying the doc's mortgage when i finally get enough courage to make the appointment.

I will call tomorrow for an antibiotic to clear up the infection, since they wont pull with that going on.

Man I hate the dentist........and for one cant afford this, for 2 I cant miss school, so it will have to be a Friday, with only sat/sun to recoperate...this is NOT going to be pretty....

ugh i hate teeth, I'm thinking dentures look much better now even if I am only 29

:crazy2: Now there's a picture. Sorry your teeth are all messing up. As phobic as i am they'd probably have to put me in a straitjacket to get me in there. I hope your dentist is gentle with your mouth and your wallet.

He's gonna knock me out before he touches me, so it wont hurt until 3 days later when I run out of percecets. My wallet- thats going to take a serious hit, since I'm back in school and not working.......I knew there was a reason I paid off my credit cards and stuck them in the freezer......ugh!

Hey I feel for you! Im one of the lucky few who had 2 sets of wisdom teeth! and yes I had to get them both removed. I had 9 teeth removed in high school. my 4 wisdom teeth, 3 molars and 2 other that looked like eye teeth ( they were all still under the gums but 2 but most were not fully grown and I even had 3 that were roots up....
I had those removed in the hospital. then 3 years ago, i found out that i had 4 more that were fully formed and has those removed at the oral surgens...

:scared1: "THE TEETH THAT KEPT ON COMING"

My sympathies for sure! I a recouperating from having a fractured root extracted the other day...on a root canal tooth no less...no, it couldn't be a regular molar...had to be the one with the nice expensive crown on it. Had to have bone grafting done as root was in 7 pieces and doc had to take more jaw bone than anticipated. I had a valium and novacaine and did fine, but was a wreck until AFTER I realized I did fine on the local. Hoping bone grafting does well to keep me as an implant candidate, otherwise it is a bridge for me. Either one knocks our budget into the twilight zone. Try and relax a little if you can, I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks and luckily not in any tooth pain (benefit of a root canal tooth, nerves are already dead) but had horrid neck/ear and shoulder pain. I am finally starting to feel better today. Can you work out a payment plan so your cc's don't get whammied all at once? I feel awfull about mine as DS is due for his braces...his treatment est at $4,000....hmmmmm, single implant $4,000...coincidence? I think not...I believe that equates a nice WDW trip...the one we are not going to take now. :sad1:

PS: make sure you have someone to drive you after the sedation....and have your meds picked up ahead of the surgery, place your phone, pillow and tv clicker on the couch, have the bag of frozen corn ready to use on your swelling, and extra gauze! Jello, pudding, yogurt, soup...your lovely diet.Put as much stuff on your kitchen counter as you can for that day, stuff you would need to bend over for...the bending is not good for the first day to avoid more bleeding. I asked for dissolving stitches as the regular ones make me gag....I SURE HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!
