How many points would I need to buy to spend December through April at a DVC resort....I don't care which one. I'm ready to sell EVERYTHING I've got and move out of here. If I have to clean snow off of my car one more time, or if it takes me 2 hours and 45 minutes to drive 22 miles from Boston to my home ONE MORE TIME, I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown!

So tell me, how many points? What's it going to cost me? And if I can't afford it, how long do you think I could move from DVC lobby to DVC lobby before somebody catches on?

Im with you on this snow stuff. We can become bag people and sleep around the resorts.Just kidding and hope you could get to disney soon.

Assuming I did this right wiith the points calculator:
4480 points for a 1 Bedroom OKW @$74 per point = $331, 520.00

2231 points for a studio OKW @$74 per point = $165,094.00

I assumed Magical Beginnings $10 discount and would think you would want the full kitchen.:D

Does anyone know if the BCV model is still open? Maybe I could sneak in right before they close every night, hide in one of the cabinets until the guide locks up and sleep there!

Thank you for this post. It is posts like these that make this board worth reading.

Count me in!! This winter in NE has been brutal!!!!!!

Think Disney.....think warm.....think Disney.......

Shoot, the snow is still coming down!!

Does this include maintenance fees?

LOL! Sure does - for at least this year! I think the east coast got all of our snow this year. We still have a big deficit! :D :D :D

You're making it worse zulaya.....10 years ago I worked for General Mills and they moved my job to Minnesota and said they would move me if I wanted to go....

Hey remember when people used to see how many people they could get into a phone booth? Well how many could we get in a one bedroom???

Maybe we could pool our points until we come up with 4480 and we could all stay in a one bedroom for the winter. Those who think more than 4 in a one bedroom should not be allowed need not apply.

I'll start by putting in my 150 points.

Okay...who else is in?????

ME! ME! ME!, COUNT on Me, we have 250 pts and are all ready thinking of adding more. Can't stand this winter in the NE.

I've already taken an extra cruise in January, then a short trip to WDW in February. Our next trip is in April. Not soon enough if you ask me. I can't take this cold any more. I wear three layers of clothes everyday, just to keep warm.

Well, I am not a DVC'er and therefore don't have any points to chip in but I can cook!

Annie, I am in Woburn and right with you on the "sick of the snow" thought process!

I can't wait to retire to leave this stuff - only 33 years to go! :p

You can count on our 350 pts. to get us out of here! We were the only school to be open today in four counties! Snow days are great, but not when you have to go in for a few hours!!! Thank goodness we had a short trip to WDW this past New Year's or I'd be going crazy!

Okay we're up to 730, and I forgot, I've got 35 banked points, so that makes 765 so far.

Who else is in? I'm calling right now to start making ressies for the first week of December 2003, just call MS and add me as an associate on your account, then PM me your member number.

Mitcam I don't know what the final tally of people is going to be, but if we are short points, we'll let you pay cash for a few nights....

edit: oops skorpie and I must have been posting at the same time....skorpie's points make it 1080-

Who's NEXT????

Can I come too? My 3 boys are climbing the walls, it's so cold and icy outside they can't even go out to play. I feel like I am going to go cucumonga pretty soon!

For $300,000+ you could have a really nice home around Orlando.. I know it wouldn't be on property, but it would yours year round.... ;) Not to mention the $14,000+ in association dues annually for 4400+ points. :earseek:

It would be nice to live at Disney World though. I have often wondered if you won the lottery if you could buy enough points to have a Grand Vista Suite at OKW year round. (I know DVC wouldn't allow this though...)

Hey the old 'Grand Vista Suites' are unoccupied over in the old Disney Institute area... 2 and 3 bedroom homes.....

Well, the problem with the Grand Vista Suites at DI is that they started tearing them down last week - at least that's what it looked like when we drove by.

We have 150 points (brand new even), which means we could borrow from next year . . . .

I posted this somewhere else, and I'm so disgusted it bears repeating. We were just down at WDW, and came home Sunday. When we left, it was 72. When we got to Burlington, VT, it was 4 degrees with the wind chill, and snowing. When we got up the next morning, it was -38.

Sometimes I hate NE.

Really? That kind of makes me sad. Those were like the ultimate in luxury for the longest time, not to mention the 'models' for a building development that never took place in the early 70s.. I was hoping those would be saved...
