I just wanted to wish you all the best. My husband quit smoking this year and I'm so proud of him because he was a very heavy smoker. You can do it, I know that you can. Stay busy!
Well I finaly did it, I've thinking about quitting again for some time now. It's been 2 days and so far not too bad, get that urge for one now and then but it passes. Hope I can stick with it this time, wish me luck everyone.
Thanks everyone for your support, I know this time I can do it, almost through my third day and I was off from work today so had to keep busy, had them urges but got past them. Thanks again for all the PD and wishes.
Thanks Ann I'll keep you in mind if I need the support, I also told myself that the next trip to WDW I was going to be smoke free and well hopefully I am on the right track. Going in August 2005 smoke free!!
Whooo hooo!!! Way to go!! Just think of what a great WDW trip it will be smoke free. None of that wasted time smoking or wanting to smoke. Way to go.
Whan the urge hits you, and it will, get up and get moving. A walk, a drive, clean the house, anything that keeps you busy. And water, lots and lots of water. There is also a great board for quitting smoking that you might want to check out. www.quitnet.com
Focus on the positives in your life. If a difficult situation happens while you are detoxing or jonsing, think about how doubly difficult the situation would be if you were smoking on top if it.
Always remember that you can have one any time you "REALLY NEED" one; access one situation at a time.
That's what I did, and I am 18 years smoke free and loving it.
Good for you!!! You can do it! Won't it be great now whenever you go in for a doctor or dentist appointment and when they ask, "Are you a smoker?" you can say "NO!"
Congratulations.Next May will be 2 years for me and DH.We quit a couple of times before and each time was harder when we would start back.So I vowed that I would never smoke again the last time I quit and we have not.I wore the patches for a couple of days and then that was it.
You can do it.You may get the urge but it passes very quickly.
Well I made it through another day now I am on day 4. Thanks for all the PD and encouraging words, I know I can do this, especialy with all my Dis buddies giving me such support. Thank you and have a good day.

My mom quit about 2 years ago because my DD's wouldn't stop nagging her. She finally just said "Fine - stop bothering me about it" & threw her cigarettes in the garbage. She said she still gets the urge occassionally, but is VERY glad she quit.
