Well I finaly did it, I've thinking about quitting again for some time now. It's been 2 days and so far not too bad, get that urge for one now and then but it passes. Hope I can stick with it this time, wish me luck everyone.
Congratulations to you!!! It isn't easy giving up something like that, but you can do it!! You will feel so much better for it in the long run. I quit smoking 11 years ago this New Years and I feel so much healthier for it. During that time I had one lapse about 5 years ago at a friends party, but after one night of smoking I knew I never would again.
Good luck to you. I'm a smoker, a big one and I would love to quit. I just don't know how to go about trying. Going cold turkey just won't work for me. What are you doing....
I quit a few months ago, I smoked on and off since I was 18. I just up and quit, and so far, haven't had the urge for one, in FACT, now they just seem disgusting. Good Luck, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :thewave:

I bought the NicoDerm CQ patches a couple months ago and have been talking myself into doing it. Well Sunday I made up my mind and Monday morning when I woke up I put the patch on, today I'm trying without the patch and so far so good. Thanks everyon for your wishes and PD.
Good for you. I wish you well. I know it isn't an easy habit to shake. My DH quit a year ago. I am so proud of him (and he's much healthier). He used the Commit lozenges. He'd tried to quit many times before, but these seemed to finally work for him.
I quit 16 months ago, next to having my kids, I consider it my biggest accomplishment. Good luck and let me know if you need someone to lean on, I've been where you are! Drink a ton of water and start thinking of yourself as a NON smoker, both worked wonders for me!
Congratulations! You can do it! It will be 17 years for me in January!! I quit the day I went into the hospital for exploratory cancer surgery (they removed a kidney) and have never smoked again! Did quit one time before that for 10 months and made the mistake of taking a drag off my husband's cigarette -- BIG mistake. Next thing you know I was smoking one cigarette, then I bought a pack, and then I bought a carton!! Good luck to you -- you CAN do it!! I am now 52 years old and can't imagine how I would feel physically if I had not quit smoking!! Other people's smoking will smell great for a while but you get to the point where it just stinks!! Hang in there!!!
Good for you!!! My DH smokes and I wish he will quit. He's been talking about it so I'm hoping he's preparing himself for it. His dad passed away from lung cancer at the age of 63 and I'm just not ready to lose my DH that early! He's only 37 so he will have time to get those lungs healed!
