It,s my birthday and I gave myself a present. The gift of being able to walk around the dis parks without having to stop for breathing breaks.I have been off the SMOKES for (5) days five long days.i can already breath better so i,m sure after a month or so i should be ready to run the parks like i used to 20 years ago.My gift for quitting is going to be passes for my wife and I.The cigarette co.will pay with all the money i will save.

Quitting smoking will be the most difficult thing you ever do in your life but about the BEST thing you ever do in your life ~ FOR your life too! Congratulations. I quit on June 16, 1990. I still celebrate that day. The first 2 weeks were absolutely horrible but after that second week hump, it got soooooo much easier. My Mom & I lived together then & I remember her even saying that the first 2 weeks, I was very unpleasant to live with.

The one thing I had to do for myself was to stay away from smokers. Just the smell made me crave enough to want to light one up but it was so much easier when I stayed away from the temptation.

Good luck to you! You have done a great thing! Not to mention, if you take that cigarette money you used to spend & put it aside, you'll be surprised at how much money you'll have saved by the end of the year! :thumbsup2

BTW ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :cheer2:
