Since I am on my own, there's some things I haven't done. We have a Weber BBQ and I have had trepidations about using charcoal and such by myself. But I did it today, broiled sirloin steaks for my sons. I didn't think I could do it but manaaged. :)

Besides, the weather is supposed to turn cooler so there are fewer opportunities coming up.

Also had the mandatory marshmallow roast. :woohoo:

Good for you! Give it a few more tries before the summer ends and by next year you'll be a pro..:thumbsup2

I had a big bucket of water ready for any fires. It was exciting to give the boys something delicious to eat! We can't afford to eat out so it was like going to a steak house. Thanks C. Ann for recognizing this was a big step for me.

You grilled steaks, not broiled them.;) If you are going to tell the world you must use proper BBQ lingo.:rotfl:

Do you have a chimney starter? Best invention for a charcoal grill imo. That way you use no lighter fluid.:thumbsup2

Good for you! We have a gas grill and I wouldn't know the first thing about cooking on it. I should learn though.

:mad:What you did not invite me!
Glad it was a success!

Chimney starter is the second best invention for a charcoal grill.:goodvibes The BEST invention is the Weber grill that uses a propane start. Just a little tank of propane starts the coals, turn off the propane after 5 minutes and the coals take of by themselves. I can't remember which model it is, but it's so easy-it was the only way I let dh get a Weber Charcoal grill.
