A co-worker of mine & his family will be driving down to WDW at the end of next week. Before DH & I went to WDW, I secretly got his address from a co-worker. I figured it would be cute to get Mickey Mouse to autograph a postcard and send it to my co-worker's son (who is the youngest of the 3 children).
So on our 2nd day in WDW, I get on line at Epcot and ask Mickey to sign, which he does. Then I write in "See Ya Real Soon". Go buy stamps (I swear I bought some beforehand and packed them, but they disappeared!) the next AM and mail them out.
Well, when we got home, I found out that my parents hadn't gotten the postcard I sent, so I figured neither did this little boy. And I was pretty bummed.
So I go to work yesterday (Thursday) and my co-worker mentions that his son is home sick. So I'm hoping and hoping that the card will come that day.
I go out to Mickey D's for a burger (and sneak a Mickey topper on the co-worker's vehicle) and go to the lunchroom in the office to eat. Co-worker comes in. Said his wife just called and his son had gotten a card from Mickey Mouse. His son was CONVINCED that his dad had sent it, even though his mom pointed out that it was postmarked from FL and there was no way his dad could do that. So he runs to find his autograph book from their last trek to WDW (3 years ago) and sees that the signatures match! Now he's all excited that Mickey is expecting him!
And I was so happy I could burst (but I didn't...this was all before the attorney problems...see my other ranting post).
Of course now my co-worker's mom-in-law is seriously ill and there is a possibility that they won't be able to go after all
I'm hoping it turns out ok, because I have just added fuel to the Disney excitement fire!
