My son's first i-pod cracked and I want him to use a case with the new one but the problem is that most say they won't work with docking. Has anyone found a hard shell case that allows docking?

It really depends on not only the case, but also on the dock item you are trying to put it in and how it is designed.

We use iSkins on our phones and iPods, and I can seat them on some things with the case still on, but on a few older items we have (speakers), they don't fit even though the case is very slim.

But it's not a hard case either, it's silicone.

I have mine in a case logic one that I picked up at Best Buy. It's a hard shell so it hasn't budged from the touch in the last few months. I've tried a bunch of silicone options and they just never seemed to work.

However, it does not cover the screen. I actually order the screen protectors off of Amazon. Usually you can get them fairly inexpensive and then I just replace them every 2 months or so.

I have the otterbox cover. It can apparently provide the best protection for your iphone. I believe it can work on the docking station as well.
