I Pod For 13 yr old?

I was just curious who here has experience with I Pod...we are trying to decide between the shuffle and the Nano.What extra's do we need to buy for it?Any opinions would be great

I wouldn't suggest the shuffle.

We bought the Ipod mini for my 12 (soon to be 13) year old. She wanted the shuffle...No accessoriesfor her yet, but maybe for Christmas, I have to look around and see what's out there. BTW, she loves it!

Well my son has the regular ipod, just bought my daughter (14) the nano and bought my DH the shuffle. I would suggest getting a cover protector for the ipod as they do scratch easily.

My DS 13 has the Ipod Mini and I just bought Mini's from MacMall (they aren't available in most retail stores anymore due to the intro. of the nano) for my DH and my DS (almost 11.) Even my DS 5 wanted an ipod shuffle, but I won't get him one. I have the regular 20G Ipod...we love them all. I went for the mini for my sons because it seemed a little sturdier than the Nano and I can just see my kids smashing it in their backpacks. But I also bought Ipod Armors for them to help protect them a little.

OK, I'm curious. Why does everyone say to not buy the shuffle?
