I Pad2 - discounts with announcement

Does anyone know of future discounts on the IPad2, with the announcement of the new I pad coming out tomorrow?

Any guesses? We would like to purchase one but want to wait until prices hopefully drop. Then we have to actually locate one...

Last year they discounted the Ipad1 by 100$ IMHO not worth it because for just a 100 more you get the latest.

Your best bet would be ebay/craiglist from now till the ipad3 actually goes on sale. A lot of people sell theirs to get a new one. AS a number of Ipad2s appear the price goes down but it will never go less than 175$ less unless the ipad is cosmetically damaged. If its something a cover can fix get a cheaper one. Apple stands by its products and if you run into technical issues they will help.

Your best bet is to wait for the iPad 3 to be announce or even start selling. Then check the apple store website and buy a refurbished iPad 2. Right now, you can buy a refurbished one for $419 instead of the $500. Refurbished apple products are repackaged in NEW outer shell casings (be it an iPhone/macbook/ipad/etc). There really is NO difference between a refurbished or new apple product. It's a little know fact, but it's a way to get apple products at a discount. All refurbished products come with the same warranty as a new one. This is our plan. When the 3 comes out, we will buy a refurbished 2 for my grandfather to FaceTime with us.

I bought an iPad2 about 2 weeks ago. The iPad1 is still available on the Apple website, and I think it was the same price as the iPad2, that's why I decided not to wait.

I saved $30 just asking about an open box model, it was only missing the USB cord, which I have several of at home.

Apple store is currently down and the announcement is supposed to be made in about 20 minutes. We are looking to get a refurbished iPad2 if the price goes down. Rumor is that Best Buy was going to discount about 20%, so not sure what Apple Store will do.

iPad2 will start at $399 according to the website. Preorders for iPad3 will be the standard $499 and up depending on size.

we just got back from the Apple Store and the iPad2 16GB is $ 399. (each level is $ 100 off the original price) We couldn't really figure out from the workers there what the big deal about the new one will be except the graphics and camera. Neither of which I care about spending $100 more. We were going to wait, but for $ 399 I think we might get one.

With the higher resolution (retina display) I would never get the 2. I would wait for a sale/deal or just pay the few hundred extra and save in some other way. You can take 5 megapixel pictures and you can do 1080 video with the ipad3.

I was not interested in ipad until the 3 came out. I'm still going to wait for a while to see how the reviews go with the new model.

I cannot imagine why anyone would care about an iPad camera. It is extremely awkward to take a photo with an iPad!

You aren't going to see any deals or sales for the new iPad for a long, long time.

The iPad 2 should be $100 off everywhere. It's possible some stores just haven't yet updated their prices.
