As of 1:00pm today, I officially became unemployed. My boss sold her practice to a larger firm and they didn't want to keep her employees. I had suspected something was up and confronted her today. She told me that I didn't need to finish out the day that they would take over immediately. So now I'm home and unemployed. I'm working on my resume right now. But the job markes seems to really suck.

So basically, I'm asking for PD to help me find a job quickly. Being the sole source of income for DD and I, this really, really, really sucks.

She paid me today for Friday's payday and she's keeping me on the payroll through next week and the 24th I'll get a check for 2 weeks that I didn't work. She said that it looks better on a resume that I'm employed than unemployed. So, my official job is getting a job. I'm supposed to drop off my resume to her tomorrow so she can get it out there for me.

Good luck to you. I know how it is. I was laid off in October, 2001. I found another job but believe that I could be out of work again as early as end of January. That first layoff was quite a shock to me after having been employed for 25 years without a break. The economy has really changed things. I'm now looking at being out of work a second time after less than a year as it looks like this company will close it's doors.
