"I never complain - so why did Disney comp our room?" trip report! *UPDATED 10/28*

so answer the call already...were all sitting on the edge of our seats to know about this!!!:teeth:

Day 3 - Part 3

Okay....so where was I???

Right! The phone call! Let me backtrack just a little. We ordered desserts next. Mimi and I had the Crema Limone which was to die for! The picture didnt come out so great, so I wont post it here. But let me tell you - if you have the chance - get the Crema Limone. Gianna and I shared it and she loved it, too.

Matthew got the tiramisu.

Very good and very rich.

The next thing, I see the manager and our waiter coming towards us with a Chef's hat and I realize what is going on. They start singing Happy Birthday and give me another dessert. The honey hazelnut riccota cheesecake.

Disney2008195.jpg

This was soooo good. Then the manager tells me I have a phone call! Yes, you have probably guessed by now - it was a phone call from a character singing me Happy Birthday! It was Goofy!:goofy: Very cute and very sweet of Matthew to set it all up. I still have no idea when he has time to do all of this.

Disney2008193.jpg

I think I forgot to add in my CP post, that they came out and sang to me and Piglet was there and gave me a birthday card signed from all the characters!

So Matthew has been up to a few things.

Anyway, it was a great night. Very special. And when we were leaving a family came up to us that had been sitting close to us to compliment Gianna and the little boy said she looked like Snow White. How cute is that? :goodvibes

I love that last picture with the hat - what a great family shot!! You all look like you get along great!:wizard:

Mimi had ridden it before, so she rode again with me. She is so fun to ride with. She screams the whole time and refuses to open her eyes!

My mom is the exact same way...she thought she was brave because she rode Space Mountian with her eyes open

My boss just passed by (yes...I'm on the Disboards at work), saw your picture and exclaimed "Who's that? She's beautiful!"....

We do and we did the entire time we were there. Even if you get along great, being in such close contact for a week can put a strain on anyone - but it really didnt for us! We all had a blast!

My mom is the exact same way...she thought she was brave because she rode Space Mountian with her eyes open

Hahaha - My mom wouldnt get on Space Mountain this time, but was brave enough to do EE. Only once though. She was done after that! :rotfl:

The best part is that she says she loves thrill rides but always seems to hate them when she is on them

How sweet! And I am on the Dis at work as well!! ;)

:rotfl: She likes the IDEA of them maybe - just not actually doing them!

Day 3 - Part 2

Gianna ended up taking a 3 hour nap! Poor baby was asleep before we left AK, stayed asleep the whole bus ride back - which was overly crowded and I had no seat, so I was trying to hold a sleeping 13 month old on one arm and hang on with the other. :headache:
************************************************************************************************

First of all, Gianna is precious...what a ham !

No one gave up their seat to you on that bus ? Holding a sleeping baby ? I am mortified ! Where are people's manners ?

Lovin' the report so far! Your daughter is adorable! DS is also 13 months and a total flirt...together they'd probably take Disney by storm! Can't wait for the next update! It's really nice to have a trip report from someone with a kiddo the same age.

Great report so far. Your husband sounds like he really did his research for those special surprises at the meals. Very lucky. My DH leaves most of that stuff for me to do -- but since I love surprising others I guess that's a good thing...

Day 2 - Part 6

After riding a few rides we head over to Crystal Palace where we have ADR's for dinner. I figured we had to do at least one character dinner. We were seated a short time later and the table was decorated for my birthday! How do they know these things?? ;)

The food was pretty good. Above your standard buffet food, but still not as good as Coral Reef. I think I compared everything to CR after that first night.

Gianna's face lit up when she saw the characters. I didnt think she would be afraid, but you never know.

She actually kissed Pooh on the nose! Ahhh!! I get all teary!!!

Disney2008118-1.jpg

Poor Eeyore. He put his hands out to her and she pointed to me. He had his feelings hurt and just sat down and threw his arms up in the air!

Disney2008122-1.jpg

Why did Matthew cut the top part of Tigger's head off?

Disney2008127.jpg

We stayed for EMH that evening and had a great time. Gianna loved IASW. She fell alsleep while we were on the Haunted Mansion and didnt wake up until the next morning. She slept in her clothes!

Disney2008135-1.jpg

We had such a great day! Animal Kingdom tomorrow morning!
I'm enjoying your trip!!!
I dont know what it is about Haunted Mansion and putting kids to sleep. My 1st DD(now 10) was 2 yrs and fell asleep and my 2nd(now 6) fell asleep when she was 18 mo.

Great update, what a sweet guy you've got! And that Gianna is killing me....:lmao:

I just found this report and I am loving it.....I love all of the pictures!!! How great that your DH did all of those things for you!!! It's great how your DD loved the characters....we went recently my youngest DD was 20 months old and she was scared beyond comfort at the characters which made me sadddd! Gald to see a little one enjoying them!

Just found this report tonight - really enjoying following along. Crystal Palace is a great character meal for taking pics. I have one of my niece with Pooh that looks like they are touching noses. Yours with G and Pooh is just as cute.

Wow, I am with you on the luggage frustration. We had issues both coming and leaving the Pop. From now on we will handle our own luggage. My husband finally did have to go down and bring up our luggage because they never brought it to us. Then, when we went home our luggage did not make it onto our plane even though we checked it in long before requested. We didn't get our luggage for over 24 hours after returning home and at one point they couldn't even track one at all. They had no idea where it was. Disney takes no responsibility for getting your luggage home since it is not their employees who actually check out your luggage at the resort. Disney did not help with our luggage at all. If they are going to offer this service there are sooo many kinks that need worked out. It's supposed to make things easier, not more difficult. :confused3

O.K. rant over. :goodvibes Um, can I have your daughter? She's the kind of little one that makes you wish for another.:rotfl:

Can you believe no one did? I made a couple of comments *loudly* that I couldnt believe that all the adults on the bus wouldnt let me sit down. Even when I almost fell over a couple times. :sad2:

And yes, G is such a ham. She loves to pose for pictures!

Boy, you arent kidding! Have you taken your son yet? It really was great seeing everything through her eyes. It sounds cliche, but it is so true!

The Dh never does stuff like this, so everything was a total surprise. Lucky for him I had a whole trip report printed out with times and ADR's on there! Otherwise, I dont know how much would have gotten done!
:lmao:

I dont know what it is about Haunted Mansion and putting kids to sleep. My 1st DD(now 10) was 2 yrs and fell asleep and my 2nd(now 6) fell asleep when she was 18 mo.

That is so funny! She was totally awake at first and then I felt her head bob a little and I looked down and she was out! Didnt wake up until the next morning!

Great update, what a sweet guy you've got! And that Gianna is killing me....:lmao:

Yes, he is a sweetie! Gianna is such a goofball! Her new thing this week is to put a piece of our clothing on her head and walk around the house. :rotfl2:

Your daughter is so cute!! Can't wait to read more!!!!

Thank you so much!

Well, she might be scared of them next time we go. I didnt think she would be, but you just never know! But she loved them so much, she would cry when they would walk away!

Thank you! CP was a really great place to take her. I am really glad I decided to do that one!

So your husband had to go find your luggage, too?? That is insane! I really thought it was just a random thing that happened - but now I think maybe not. It was so frustrating. Luckily, we didnt have the problem coming home. I would have really been frustrated then!

Oh, and my husband is asking for another baby already! I say we enjoy the one we have now and then maybe later on!! :rotfl:

Day 4 - Part 1

After a magical evening at DHS and catching the late show of Fantasmic! - which both Matthew and I got all teary in - we went back to POP and rested up for the next day.

I was really excited about this day. My two favorite parks were on our touring plan today. Magic Kingdom and Epcot! Magic Kingdom was scheduled for the morning, because we wanted to hit Fantasyland and let Gianna get to ride all those rides.

We hit the MK as soon as it opened and went straight to Peter Pan's Flight. We were able to walk right on. G enjoyed it and Matthew didnt see what all the fuss was about. He says he likes the Winnie the Pooh ride better.

After that, we decide to wait in line for Dumbo. The wait was only about 10 minutes, so not bad at all.

Matthew and G waiting in line

Disney2008197.jpg

Waiting for the ride to start - it seemed to take forever

Disney2008199.jpg

Finally riding Dumbo!!

Disney2008207.jpg

Next we go to Snow White - which might have scared Matthew a little :lmao: and when we are heading over to Winnie the Pooh, we see everyone exiting the ride has Dream Ears!!! I grab everyone and scream HURRY!!!!!!!!! We jumped in line but by the time we got off, they were gone. :sad1: So close!!!!

Matthew is getting hungry, so we head back to Main Street and eat at Main Street Bakery. The french toast loaf is incredible. My stomach is growling just thinking about it.

It starts to drizzle outside a little, which made everyone run for cover and look who we see standing all by himself?

Disney2008213.jpg
\

Frontier Donald!

And then we saw another couple ducks - they thought G might have either been food or had food

Disney2008210-1.jpg

We catch the Pirate Tutorial - which was really good. pirate: Then we see these guys hanging out.

Disney2008142-2.jpg

We had a really good morning at MK. We got a lot done in a short time and had a great morning. We headed back to POP for a nap and lunch.
