We are planning a quick getaway for the end of november. We are getting a standard king room for $129 aph rate. If I add in another night, the price for the room jumps dramatically for all 3 nights. If I just try to get a one night ressie for the additional night, it claims no rooms are available. Do you think they would assist me in adding an additional night upon arrival? Has anybody done this before? I know that there are rooms available, but they just won't allow me to book the one night online. Thoughts?

Are you looking at the rates online?

The online booking page can be deceiving. It will always show the most expensive rate, even if the rate only applies to one or two days of your stay.

I am guessing that if you click on "rate details" for your selected days and then scroll down to the section labelled "rate information", the last line will have an asterick *rate changes and will list the lower rate for your first two days and the higher rate for your third night.

Give it a try and put your days in again and then click on "rate details" under your selected rate. See if it is actually doing a rate change for your third night rather than changing the rate for the whole three nights.

I tried that and it showed a higher rate for all 3 nights. I think I'll book the 3 night seperately, but via telephone, and see how that works out. This is so annoying!!!

I would also ask for a price for all three nights via the phone. It may or may not make a difference :confused3 You can cancel the online booking up to 5 days before your scheduled check in day.

I have made ressies where you had to do 2 nights then tried to cancel one which didn't work. I have made ressies for one night and added a night in the morning through star services and they gave me the same rate. The night I added was a higher rate online too. Like a Thurs. and add Fri.

So you added the night after you got there? I think that is what I'm going to try. Thanks. Otherwise, I was thinking of just changing to off site for the final night. I guess I"ll have to play it by ear.

:thumbsup2

I would give reservations a call and see if they can give you the lower rate.

I am leaving tomorrow and just booked my trip on Sunday, so very, very last minute.

The website was not showing availability, so I called. Not only did I get the rooms I needed, but reservations came back with a rate that was not yet showing on the website. It did show up a few days later, so apparently the reservationists knew it was about to be released and gave it to me before the website was updated.
