We have decided to arrive a day early in WDW to take advantage of the discount codes for December. So instead of arriving on Dec. 26th, we will be in the car on Christmas Day and arrive at the WL in time for the parade in the Magic Kingdom!!! Now while we are sooo excited to be going to WDW, the thought of spending Christmas Day in the car is leaving us all a little sad. Christmas is so special in our family and we are a family where "the day" is important...some folks have no trouble celebrating early or late...know what I mean? So what I need from you creative people are ideas to make our "car Christmas" special! I am already planning to have a little tree in the car and yummy food in the cooler to take the place of Christmas dinner. There will be Christmas music and videos and the kids will have a couple of new "Santa" gifts to play with (we will open gifts at home and then hit the road....my kids are always up by 4 AM anyway out of sheer excitement!!) Any other ideas? I wold love to hear them! Thanks ya'll!!

Decorate the inside of your car by taping a few Christmas balls /ornaments up! Put a wreath around your license plate! There are DISNEY christmas cd's available, which are GREAT!!! Take mugs with covers & fill them w/ hot chocolate! Spray a pine tree scent on your tree to make it smell real! Decoate the tree while driving by giving everyone (except the driver) a cup of popcorn & dried cranberries & make your own homemade strings!! We've also got creative & added gummy bears, just for the fun of it. It will help pass the time in the car, too! Play the "Christmas memory game & let everyone share their favorite 3 Christmas memories! Read aloud twas the night before Christmas. Hope some of these help.

How about hanging some stockings in the car and fill them with some activities for the kids to do in the car. Maybe have some small gifts wrapped up to give to the children every so often in the car. Maybe decorate the car with some Disney themed Christmas decorations or wear Disney themed Christmas attire.

Oh my goodness!! Between you, Hnymoon@Dixie and jx3smom, Dream, I think you've got it covered!! What wonderful ideas! I can't think of a thing to add, but just had to say I think it sounds like a wonderful Christmas day!! Be sure to play the best Christmas music CD out there: Amy Grant's "A Christmas Album". :teeth:

How about picking out a town or two close to the interstate and stopping there and getting a picture of the children next to something Christmasy there. I know a lot of small towns, like mine, really go all out for Christmas and you could get some great pictures and let everyone stretch their legs too.

:bounce: Sounds like a fun Christmas to me! I'm usually too exhausted by Christmas Day to enjoy much of anything. I would love to be driving to WDW. Plus traffic should be sparse. Have a good trip.
