My mom, sis, DD and I are headed to DW December 13-17. This gives me a little over a month to get all of my Christmas shopping done or wait til the last minute. Except that no one that I need to buy for has their lists together yet and DH has not given me any kind of budget for the ones I could possibly be getting done now. You would think I learned my lesson 3 years ago when we got married and went on our honeymoon in early December, only to come home to rush around getting ready for Christmas. But honestly, this trip sounded like a good idea when we were discussing dates in June. I guess I can just focus on packing for the trip now so when I'm finally able to shop the week before we leave, I'll have time. It seems like no one around me realizes how quickly Christmas is coming.

Last year, I went to Disney for a week and came home 8 days before XMas. I had everything done before leaving, including wrapping, and it was so nice to just come home and relax and enjoy the season. I'm a big time planner, though!

Maybe consider scaling back on gifts this year? I am!

One year, we drove down to WDW on the 11th of December, and got home late the 24th. I had everything ready (our kids were 2 and 4). But now that they are older, I am just scaling back and focusing on the holiday, not the gifts so much.

Dont' stress too much, or you won't enjoy your vacation!

I do a "kids day out" I take my 6 yr old and 9 yr old DD to the mall, toy store, WalaMart, Justice, Disney Store etc and take pictures of every toy, shirt etc they want or like. When we get home, I upload them to the computer and we go through and they pick their favorites. I then take another day (by myself) and do one big trip, or I keep a copy of the list in my car and when I have to go to WalMart, mall etc, I pick up some of the items. It's a looong day but it really helps me know what they want. The ones you can hurry along (DH, kids etc) hurry them up. Tell them "It's time to s*** or get off the pot" or Santa IS not coming this year. And mean it when you say it.

Another tip..take advantage of free giftwrapping. Or find a teenager or other Mom that you know may need a little exta $$ this year and pay them to wrap your gifts (if upi have the money). Gift wrapping takes alot of time and that would definately help you out.

It IS coming fast though. I'm almost done with my shopping and I still feel behind :scared1:

I'm right there with you - we leave the Friday after Thanksgiving and get back the evening of 12/6. I want to be done before we leave - but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I have purchased my niece-in-laws gifts, my great niece's gift and am pretty much done with dd. But I still have sisters, parents, parents-in-law, brother-in-law, etc. I want it done wrapped and under the tree before I leave.....I guess I'm dreaming of a perfect world :)
