I need to get happy with my ADR's

We are going Nov. 11 through 15. I have so many dining dilemmas. I solved a couple of them tonight. Anyone care to give me your thoughts?

11/11 Chef Mickey's 7:50 pm (this is our arrival day and the only chance we would have to go to DTD)
11/12 Chef Mickey's 10:45 am (this is an MK day, I want to get there for rope drop, I think I could still have at least an hour or hour and 15 minutes in MK to ride a couple of things and grab a few FP's. Can't we walk to the Contemporary in about 10 minutes?)
11/12 Whispering Canyon 5:05 (I originally had a 7:40 that I just canceled when I got this time, that way we can go eat and still make it back in time for Wishes and possibly the parade)
11/13 no ADR's this day, HS
11/14 Ohana 8:40 pm (this would cause me to miss Illuminations so I am going to keep trying for an earlier time)
11/15 1900 Park Fare 9:35 am ( I solved this dilemma just now too because I had an ADR for 8:10 but this is our check-out day and I knew I would not have wanted to get up and be out that early on the last day of our vacation)

I will end up canceling one of my Chef Mickey's, what would you do? Any other critiques?

I would cancel Chef Mickeys for dinner as the food is better there in the AM. Where are you staying, on or off property? I would dine either in DTD if you are there anyways or somewhere near your hotel. We are always tired the first night from getting to the airport so early so we always have dinner near the BCV's but with so many restaurants nearby that is easy for us. I Have had breakfast many times at Chef Mickeys after being in the park. I find it faster to take the monorail. Now we just prefer to eat at Crytal Palace as it is closer. Why no ressies on the 13th and how old are the kiddies?

The night you arrive why don't you eat at DTD???

Don't know age of kids but you can get a coupon for rainforest cafe for kids to eat for $0.99..

We are staying at Pop as of now, if they come out with a deal for November we may switch resorts. We will be at AK on 11/11 but it closes at 5. Part of me wants to start my trip with dinner at Chef Mickey's and part of me wants to go to DTD.

We don't have any reservations on 11/13 because we are going to Hollywood that day, I was trying for Mama Melrose F! package but didn't get it. Plus we are on the dining plan and will only have 4 table credits.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Oh and my kids will be 11 and 8 then. The rainforest cafe idea sounds good, where do I get that coupon from?

If you are looking to replace one of the Chef Mickeys and you are interested in a character meal, I would replace one with either of the following:

-Tusker House Breakfast at Animal Kingdom Park (Donald, Daisy, and gang in these really cute safari outfits-great food)

-Crystal Palace Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner at MK (Winnie the Pooh and Gang-great food)

-Cape May Cafe Breakfast at Beach Club Resort (Minnie, Goofy, Donald in really cute beach outfits-great food)

Chef Mickey's is great for the character interaction, but I find the restaurant to be not very clean and food not great (breakfast is way better than dinner)

The rest of your dining choices look fantastic!

You only really have 3 park days if I am looking at your schedule correctly (12-14th). I would not leave MK twice in one day to eat (Chef Mickey's for BF and the same day WCC for dinner). If you keep our CM at 10:45 you can reasonably be back in MK around 12:15, and then you would have to leave again around 4:30 to leave for WCC at 5:05, and getting back in the park by about 6:30 (if you have no delay-the only delay we had in any of our reservations was at WCC and it was over 20 minutes in mid-January for a 5:20 reservation).

What time does your flight come in? Depending on the time I would make a quick trip to DTD and do CM for dinner, and the next day enjoy MK and only leave one time for WCC. We have done CM for dinner more than once and while it was not "fantastic" food we all ate well and enjoyed the roast meats. The kids had a great time both times we went and seeing all the characters was a wonderful way to start our trips.

All your ADRS sound delish to me!
We had CM for dinner a few weeks ago and were suprised at how good it was after all the negative recviews it gets!

BUT since you will be in DTD I would suggest dinner there. Our fave place in Trex in DTD, its a tradtion to eat here each trip the night before checking into our WDW resort (we drive down day before and stay DTD hotel and do DTD)

Agreed. If you're only spending one day in MK, you don't want to spend half the day eating/traveling/waiting to eat. I would cancel one of those ADRs and opt for a CS meal instead.

Also, if Illuminations are at 9 (which I believe they are, right?), I would try for an Ohana ADR at or before 6 PM. You often need to wait past your ADR time here, and since it is a multi-course meal, it can take a little longer. I would just overestimate how long you think your meal would take, if it's really important to you to get back to Epcot to see Illuminations.

We are driving, not flying. We will have 11/11 at AK for a few hours (it is our least favorite park but there are still a couple of things we want to go do there). We will be at MK on 11/12 and 11/15. Since we are driving we probably won't leave on the 15th until about 4 or 5. MK is open on 11/12 until 1:00 am with EMH so we will have plenty of time there. I am still hoping for an earlier Ohana on 11/14 but if that doesn't happen I guess I will be okay with missing Illuminations, we saw it last time.

I had a 7:40 WCC on the 12th and changed it to the 5:05 because I thought Wishes was at 9:00, then looked again and it is at 10:00 so I might should have kept the 7:40. Oh well, I still have time to play with it a little.

Thanks!
