I need to cut a couple TS meals - opinions Please

Since no one suggested this, I would switch Jiko for Boma (2 TS--> 1 TS). Boma gives you and your kids a chance to TRY a wide variety of unique flavors plus plenty of familiar choices. Jiko will limit you to one choice, hit or miss.

I'd keep Jiko, Le Cellier, and Kona...our top 3 restaurants in the world and the 3 we always, always do! :)

Jiko is great for adventerous (sp??) eaters, but from what you said your kids aren't so I'd either drop it or be prepared by getting them something to eat somewhere else and they can just get something really small there. It may be better to wait on Jiko for a couple of years.

I'm not sure if you are aware of the rumors that Le Cellier will require two dining credits next year on the plan. So if you are going this year I would keep it so that you can check it out while it's only 1 TS credit.

What?? I hadn't heard this... :sad2:

Anyway, I would drop Grand Floridian Cafe. We were not impressed at all when we went there. It felt very stuffy & not overly kid-friendly.

We've decided to do the regular dining plan (makes financial sense given the number of character meals, and the fact that our kids are under age 9)

I now need to cut a couple of our TS meals, so we use all of our CS credits (and I think I booked too many because I love to eat lol)

We know we are keeping 1900 Park Fare breakfast, Chef Mickeys breakfast and the Akershus Princess Dinner, as our kids really want those 3.

Here are the others I'm trying to decide amongst. If we do Jiko then I can only a total of 3 of these. If we drop Jiko I can do 4. Thanks!

Our kids are 3 and 6, and not very adventurous eaters. DH and I love all types of food, and we love good wine. We are staying at the Grand Floridian, which is why our reservations are fairly monorail-focused.

Kona
The Wave
Ohana
Grand Floridian Cafe
Jiko
Le Cellier

ps - I should note that I am **not** double-booked at any restaurants - all are different days. But I'd like to cancel soon what we won't use, so it frees up for another family

Curious to know what you've decided....

Hello everyone, thank you for your wonderful feedback! I also had my husband look at the menus on allears, and here is what we've decided :-)

we are keeping Kona, Le Cellier and Ohana

We've cancelled the others, but actually we added California Grill - we love Sushi, they have an amazing wine list, and it is much more convenient to get to from the Grand Floridian. They also have items that both our kids will enjoy.

We still have to decide where/if we pay out of pocket for anything (or if we are going to cancel another TS), but at least we are all set with reservations, and have released our "extra" ressies so other families can get them (although it is clear that Ohana, Le Cellier and Chef Mickeys were the ones that are very in-demand, and we are still keeping those)

thanks again, I love this board!!

I can't believe 50's PTC didn't make your list. It's so kid friendly and so is WCC. Why didn't these make your list?

thank you for your opinion, we weren't interested in either one. I figure there is a reason that Disney has so many different types of places, to meet different interests.

Not interested in the whole "schtick" of 50's PTC, we've had that here in Chicago forever at Ed Debevic's, and I already have to tolerate it once a year :rotfl:

Likewise not interested in WCC (the "act" or the food at all).

When we vacation we do a mix of meals for the kids (at Disney we have the 3 character meals already) and adults. Our kids have learned from a young age how to behave at more "adult" restaurants too.

Glad you are happy with your choices. Have a wonderful (Ok, I'll say it) Have a MAGICAL time!
