Here are some of the ones that I have to choose from...

1. Reunion Resort

2. Royal Palms

3. Bonnet Creek

4. Hilton - On International

5. Hilton - Sea World

I need some information on each of them... Also how close to Downtown Disney is any of them... Walking distance to eateries and things?

You tell me which one....

I can really use some help... This is all because RCI took AKV away....because I own with in the 30 mile radius...

Reunion Resort: is about 20 min from Downtown Disney via I - 4. It's on the Champion's Gate exit (58). Reunion is a huge resort consisting of 3 golf courses. There's condos, townhouses and pool homes spread throughout the resort. There's also a few restaurants, a waterpark, spa, fitness area, a number of swimming pools. You would have to walk to these within the resort if you don't have a car and it can be quite far. There are a few restaurants, a Publix, CVS etc not far from the entrance to Reunion and you could possibly walk there if you were in the sections near the gate ( Heritage Crossing or the Terraces).
We stayed there and it is huge so if you don't have a car then I wouldn't.

Bonnet Creek is in the Disney area and only about 5 min by car to DD but there's no restaurants within walking distance.
Someone else will give you info on the others.

Marriott's Royal Palms? If that's the resort then it's on the Marriott World Center hotel property next to the big Vistana Resorts and about a ten minute drive to DTD. There's nothing really within walking distance other than the restaurants at the hotel complex.

Bonnet Creek is wedged between I-4 and Disney property in the same neighborhood as Disney's Caribbean Beach. It's not far from DTD but I would have guessed that it would take longer than 5 minutes to drive because there are several traffic lights along Buena Vista Drive but five minutes would seem about right if you got all the lights.

I-Drive Hilton is next to the big Premium Outlets shopping complex and near a shopping center that includes a nice Publix, a Walgreens and a variety of small specialty shops. There are a couple of fast food type restaurants in that area (I can't remember which ones despite having driven by them dozens of times). All of those would be easily walkable from that HGVC. Probably 10 to 15 minutes to DTD, maybe closer to 10 but also dependent upon traffic and catching the traffic lights.

The SeaWorld Hilton is in the SeaWorld neighborhood near Marriott's Cypress Harbour and Marriott's Harbour Lake timeshare resorts. While it's in an area with sidewalks there's really not much to walk to over there. Nice resort, though. I'd say no more than a 10 minute drive to DTD via I-4.

Of these, we've only stayed at the SeaWorld HGVC and thought it was quite nice (we had a spacious 3 bedroom unit for our family of five). HGVCs seem to be higher end timeshare resorts so I suspect that the HGVC I-Drive location, which is newer, is every bit as nice though I'm not sure I'd want to stay there only because of how busy it is in the general area - not so bad for traffic, but the outlet center and parking lot pushes right up to the resort. The resort itself is supposed to be very nice.

The Marriott Royal Palms is an older Marriott resort but has recently been refurbished and is supposed to be up to grade with other, newer Marriott upgrades. We've also not stayed here - will be at sister resort Sabal Palms in June - but the location is great.

Finally, Bonnet Creek. This is one that's on our list for future stays. Though we really like the Marriotts this is one that seems interesting because of location to Disney parks, quality of resort and resort amenities.

So I'd suggest Bonnet Creek for location and HGVC I-Drive for walking access to shopping.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom at Bonnet Creek, 12/07. We loved the resort and did make it to DTD in under 5 minutes. We had a view of the bowling pins at Pop, I believe. Service was great, unit, was beautiful. Our only complaint, the mattresses were horrible, they were in the process of replacing them during our stay so that problem is probably fixed. We rented from an individual, and did not have to attend a sales pitch. We liked Hilton-SeaWorld, but feel Bonnet Creek is a nicer resort. Have a great trip.

Bonnet Creek is the newest of the bunch and the most convenient. We booked it for our October trip.

If you scroll down this forum you'll find numerous reviews and tips for the resort.

The Reunion resort is not a go... found out its only a rental through rci ... not for points..

I just wanted to thank you all and just to see if anyone had any info on Sheraton Vistana Resort on Vistana Centre Drive?

I might want to book that instead of all of them .. but I am also thinking about Orange Lake .. Again...

What do you think?

Sheraton Vistana is one of our favorite resorts, but I'd still go with Bonnet Creek for convenience and newness. We also like the HGVC-Sea World, but it is not that convenient for Disney. We didn't care for Orange Lake, but it has many fans.

The two largest timeshare resorts in the Disney area, I think. We've enjoyed stays at both resorts - twice at Vistana, three times at OLCC. But sections of these resorts have been built over large periods of time. So that means that the condition of different sections varies from one another. Not sure what's going on in terms of refurbishment at OLCC but Vistana sections are being refurbed.
We like the location of OLCC because it isn't right in the middle of things and seems more peaceful for such a large resort. And getting to Disney isn't all that bad. Vistana is more centrally located and pretty close to Disney parks and Downtown Disney, lots of restaurants and shopping. Good location to get to SeaWorld and Universal, too.

I agree with Sheila that I'd still pick Bonnet Creek over these resorts and that the HGVCs are a bit higher end resorts than either OLCC or Vistana.
