and I have no idea how to do it. I tried searching the Providence Journal archives, with no luck. But I am driving myself crazy until I know.
Saturday Jun 23, we were driving through Providence at 4:30AM, on our way down to Vero Beach. There was an accident, and we were stopped. The accident had just happened, so the road was blocked. It was one of those scenes where you see people turn off their engines, and get out of the car, we were not moving anywhere for awhile. MY mistake, was I walked up to see what happened. BIG mistake. It was not a pretty scene. It was a two car accident. One of the cars had the roof cut off. I saw no victims, they were already removed from the scene, THANK GOODNESS. But the car, it was a mangled mess. A police officer was kicking stuff from the car off the road, and I saw a bag of some sort. Like a small duffle bag. It really hit me hard, that the person or persons in this car did not make it. How could they? I could not shake that devastation. I kept thinking, someone did not make it home. Someone else was getting the most devasting news ever. A bunch of guys were taking pictures with their phones, and I asked them if they knew whether or not it was a fatality. Their response seemed a little bit excited when they said "oh yeah, I'm sure". The only thing missing was a high five. GROSS.
I was depressed for hours. Everytime one of my kids would ask if they could unbuckle their seatbelt to get something, I had a stern absolutely NOT response. I can't get the accident out of my head, and I just want to know if their was a fatality or not. Anyone in the area know about this accident? Was it on the news? In the paper?
TIA.
