Hopefully I can explain this so you understand. I have an iPad, and I pulled my Kindle over for reading. But I would love to use the it for audio books. I am not sure how to set this up for doing so. Do I use the iCloud for the reading? Do you need an app? If so what is the cost?

If you have the patience to explain it I would really appreciate it.

You can use an app called Overdrive to get audiobooks from the library and listen to them (your library may use a different service/app, you can check your local library website). You can buy audiobooks through Audible.com or Audiobooks.com and they both have their own apps. If you own a book through your Kindle and on Audible you can listen to it through the Kindle app or the Audible app.

Generally, the apps are free, the books are not unless it's through the library.

I'm not clear - do you want to use the Kindle for audiobooks? Or you want to use the ipad for both reading and listening?

If you have the kindle app on your ipad (free from the app store) you can read the same book on both devices and it will keep track of "furthest page read' and sync them.

As far as audiobooks, it depends where you're going to be getting them:

There is a way, if you purchase books through Amazon and audiobooks through Audible (app is free, but charge for books) that it'll keep track and sync as well, though I've never actually done it.

If you are going to be getting audiobooks from the library, I've found my library has a VERY helpful step by step guide (my library uses Overdrive).

You can also purchase audiobooks via itunes though I've had trouble listening from one device to another. It just happens sometimes and I've never been able to figure out why it happens.

I want to use the kindle, which I just put it on the iPad. But it just seems so confusing. Some books for the kindle can be used on the audible site but not all. The ones I have read can be used for audio, but the last one I got no. I am using the iPad for the kindle. I am trying to explain it in the most simple terms. Thanks for the reply's I appreciate it.
