Ok....I had lost some weight, lost inches. Then my schedule got crazy and I could not get to Curves to exercise.

I have gone once this week! AAAHHH!!! I feel terrible.

What else can I do to keep myself going? I do have a treadmill and am going to try to get back on it tonight.
My DH was using it last night. I am so proud of him! He is on his way to losing weight and getting healthier.
He was not interested before. We saw his sister last weekend and she has lost 60 lbs. She looks great! She is a diabetic and really needed to lose the weight.

Someone please tell me to get off my butt and get moving!!!!

Get off your butt and get moving!!!

You were doing so great - remember how good you felt?? Take it one day at a time - don't look at a big picture and let yourself get discouraged. Plan to exercise today at a certain time, then do it! That will give you incentive to do it again tomorrow! You can do this!!! :D

When you discover the secret to getting motivated to exercise, will you share it with me? I seem to spend a large part of my day at the hospital and by the time I get home, I just want to DIS. I'm very bad about working out and I know it is a key to being successful. I'm so silly

I'm going downstairs right this minute and doing WATP.

Okay, I'm back. I finished the one mile WATP. Thanks for motivating me, Lisa!

Wow! You're fast!! I need to get moving too. I sit all day at work, then by the time I get home I'm so tired I sit all evening then go to bed!!! :faint:

I bought some Pilates tapes awhile back, and haven't tried them yet. Maybe I'll start this weekend....

I hear you! Sometimes it's so hard to get motivated, even though we know it's good for us and helps our success!

I was doing so good, and was exercising 6 days a week, then I got so busy with Cheerleading and other things that It was wearing me out. I stopped one day, then one weekend and now I can't get back into the swing. I am going to wait now till cheerleading, dh going away for a military trip and our vacation to get back into the grove of things.

I wish it were as easy as just waving a magic wand!

Melanie

I have to make myself exercise too. I started a serious exercise plan Oct. 1. I bought several videos for some variety. I have yoga, pilates and WATP. They are varying lengths. Sometimes I only have time for a quick workout so I grab a shorter tape. When it's nice I take the dog to the park for a walk. (She just brought me one of my DS's stinky socks. How sweet. )

Remember building muscle increases metabolism and burns fat faster. For the first 2 weeks my muscles retained water and I didn't lose any weight to speak of. In the last week I've lost 6 pounds. That's enough to keep me going right now. Plus, I'm starting to develop muscles which is pretty cool and I do feel great after I exercise.

Oh my gosh..just tape that picture of Johnny Depp in front of the treadmill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a treadmill too and just watched it sit there. Get off the computer and get on it!!! Make it part of your day. Look ahead at what you have going on in the week and schedule it like a doctor appt. Make a calendar on the fridge so you have your exercise scheduled.

Get on it girl!!:Pinkbounc I did and just love it now. I do 4-6x per week now, 45 minutes. It's my time to think about whatever, grocery list, upcoming trip to WDW and how I hope to look in our happy pictures, or just be brain dead and watch reality TV..lol!!

Hey:Pinkbounc
I did not think of that!! Woo Hoo! I guess it would not motivate my DH much, but me....that's another story.

My schedule has been so messed up lately and I have not had time to think about exercise.

Thanks for the motivation tips...I will get started tomorrow morning.
I think I will get up before everyone and start the treadmill again.
Hope there aren't any spiders in it! LOL!;)

Okay, get moving!!! You know what you need to do and only you can make yourself do it!!

I read something Dr. Phil said recently and it made a lot of sense to me and I think it would apply here, even though he was talking about willpower. Dr. Phil said, "Willpower is a myth." No one can control themselves all the time. Set up your life (ie food, exercise) when your willpower (or desire) is strong, so your routine will pull you through when you are not feeling motivated. I understand being busy, that happens to all of us, but take some time for yourself to sit down and make a plan for your "crazy" schedule, schedule in some 'you' time so that you can get your exercise in.

Good luck, I know how it can be, getting healthy (ie eating right and exercising) is a big commitment and some days the challenges are harder than others. Perfect example for me, this week I had a really busy week and I missed one of my workout days. The week was coming to an end and I didn't want to lose my 3 month exercise clippie, yet I wasn't sure with all of my commitments how I was going to make my weekly goal. Well, yesterday DS has his soccer championship tournament, 3 games total, what I did was between game 1 and 2 we had an hour, so I left DS with his dad and grabbed another soccer mom and we walked for 45 minutes, thereby giving me my 45 minute workout for the day. It wasn't my normal 45 minute cardio workout, but it was 45 minutes of exercise and I get to keep my clippie! I know to be successful at losing weight I have to do it, I may not always want to, but it is necessary.

You can do it, Lisa!!!!

That's the key for me! Off to do WATP, out to walk or go to Curves BEFORE I come home for supper!

(Oh, and I like the JD thing, too! ;)

How about get together for lunch with ohMom and I? I know I got together with her at the zoo and she was SUCH an encouragement to me! I think you'll find her positive attitude and passion infectious!

What if you made it agoal that you do your exercise before you allow yourself to get on the boards. I know that when I tell mysef I'm just going on the computer for a few minutes to check in and then I'll go exercise it doesn't work. That few minutes turns in to a lot longer, the time just gets away from me LOL.
The boards could be your "reward" for having exercised!
I just finished reading the South Beach diet book last night and in there it says that even 20 minutes of brisk walking a day is very good for you.

Lets all get off our buts and get moving, it's so good for us!

Thanks everyone! Well...I did it this morning.
Since Curves is not open on Sunday, I got up before everyone else and did my workout on the treadmill!

I felt so good afterward. I just need to make sure I can do that every morning. I am going to try again later today and then in the morning.
Sometimes it is hard to find the time to get to Curves, but the treadmill is always in the basement! (Darn it)!

I am also trying to adjust my eating habits. That is the difficult one.

I am only eating when I am hungry and trying to push away from the table.

Thanks for all the encouragement....got to go tape my Johnny Depp picture by the treadmill!pirate:
