I need some computer help.

First let me start by saying im not to computer savy.I have a cable modem and like to use their home page. It is called optimum online. Some how another home page called fastsearch has bullied it's way into my computer. It has set it self up as my default home page. I tried re-setting it but it will not let me. I tried spybot and that didn't work. Every time I reset it and shut my computer off, it just goes back to fastsearch. How can I get rid of that??

Hi there,
try another software called ad-aware, just search for it in yahoo, and download it, and try that.

Some of these programs have an email address and you can contact them and ask them how to get rid of it.

If that does not work, then try another one called Hijacked

read the above article and print it off. My father in law had the above same thing and I got rid of with Hijacked, but before you do anything, you can ruin your computer so copy off your stuff to cd or floppies and make a note of any settings like passwords just in case,

Just trying to get some clarification but when you say that "resetting" didn't work, did you mean you went into your internet options and changed your homepage manually and that didn't work?

Try adaware available at lavasoftusa.com if that doesn't work search for spybot, also a free program.
Yup dadof3 that is exactly what these programs do. They also slow down your computer and transmit info on your surfing habit's back to the company

When I go into internet options and change it back manually it doesn't work. When I re-start my computer it goes back to fastsearch.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I tried Spybot Advanced and it worked. I tried the regular Spybot 3 times and it would never find it. Thanks again.
