I need some Atkins advice....please!!

I decided to give fitday a try. Well here are my results from the last 2 days:

Today I ate 2965 Calories, 165 Grams of Fat, and 4 g Carbs

Yesterday: 1494 Calories, 111 Fat, 6 carbs.

Now please tell me that eating this much fat and calories is going to allow me to lose weight!!! We went to dinner tonight and I had steak...so I know that is why my calories and fat are sooo high...but I didnt realize how much FAT it has in it...plus I had some of my hubbys chicken wings...(oh geesh..I forgot about the blue cheese dressing I was dipping).

At this rate...I am afraid of gaining weight. Please...any advice would be helpful...I need to go out for a run...than I am going to go throw up...(naw..just kidding..but I really think I should...lol)

On Atkins, you actually NEED the fat to lose the weight!!

It was difficult for me to accept this concept too, but all I can say is........

it works!!!

Those were exactly my thoughts in my first week of doing Atkins. I thought the whole thing was some sick joke perpetrated on me by some snake oil doctor and I would see my weight ballooning ever upwards, but as soon as I stepped on the scales at the end of the first week, I soon realised(even after reading the book and the science behind it) that this actually works.

Now I am just 1lb short of that 30lb clippie after just under 2 months and feeling fabulous.

This is truly the best type of diet (sorry lifestyle change) that I could possibly go on as it fits so well into my eating plan.
 
Thanks for posting this question Luvinit. I had the same concerns so much that I keep re-reading the rules of induction several times a day!

If this helps, I read somewhere that your fat intake should be about 60-65%.

Wow...I had no Idea that fat intake should be that high...I guess I won't stress out about it just yet.....Thanks for help.

It definitely works, BUT YOU CAN"T CHEAT! Remember to carefully monitor those carbs.

The good news is that you probably won't want/need to consume that many calories after your system adjusts. Fat & protein saitisfies you much better and longer than other types of food. After the first week on Induction, I completely lost my desire for high carb, sugary treats - I even walked by a whole display of Krispy Kreme Donuts and wasn't at all tempted.

It is very scarey at first when you punch in those numbers! I about fainted when i saw 68 grams of fat! But,it obviously works! I have lost 15.5 pounds in three weeks!

I agree, it does work!! I was surprised as well the first time I entered all my foods at fitday and the fat intake was incredible! LOL...
