OK, I know this may sound crazy :earseek: (I haven't even asked my best friend if she will go yet), but I have airline ticket credit that I need to use before the fares go up too high. So I was thinking of doing an overnighter in Orlando, flying down early in the morning, hitting Magic Kingdom, crashing at a cheap (but safe) hotel and then flying home mid-afternoon the next day. So I guess I have a couple of questions.

1. What are your recommendations for a very ($50 or under) affordable offsite hotel? It doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and safe. Also, close to Disney.

2. What are the normal costs for a taxi to get to the hotels right outside of Disney from MCO? I know I've seen the quote info somewhere, but I can't remember where.

TIA :worship: :worship: :worship:

Stay onsite. The free transfers Diseny is offering ME will more than cover the difference in hotel rate.

Mears will run you around $70 R/T for two and a towncar or taxi will cost almost $100 R/T. Add that to your $50 rate for a budget hotel and you might as well stay onsite. This assumes you're going after ME begins in May.

yes I love the Magical Express.

I would recommend - Pop Century on WDW property.

for off site

but if you want a hotel outside - Holiday Inn West - very close to disney and it should be a safe (if there any place) hotel.

remember that 1 or 2 day passes are now - very, very, very expensive - if you know you are going back - I would buy a 7 day pass with no expiry date.
