I have normal (late 30s) skin - though I do have a few pimples ocassionally.

I do my makeup in the car - so I don't wanna spend any time. I used to use dual finish makeup - I think it was Lancome. Then I went to the cheap stuff from Walmart. I pretty much want something that stays all day long but is one step & doesn't look caked on.

I want to go & get someone to match the color to my skin - I never have any luck with the drugstore kind getting the right color.

Do you have any suggestions?

I would've said Perscriptives, since they did custom blends, but they've since gone out of business around January. :sad1:

Anyways, I have always heard good things about Clinique's makeup line, and their foundation is no exception. I personally have never had them, but I've had their lipsticks and glosses, and I've seen people get their skintone matched at Clinique counters in stores like Macy's and Lord N' Taylor's, and they've come out pretty nice. Prepare for the fact that it can be a bit pricey, but IMO, the brand is worth it. With every item I've had from them, including skincare products and lip products, as well as makeup remover, I'm very happy with them. :thumbsup2

Also, don't rule out MAC Cosmetics. They're along the pricey side too, but they are, IMO, one of the best cosmetic brands out there, and I have Studio Concealer from them, which is PERFECT for covering redness from pimples, blotchiness, etc. There are some MAC counters in Macy's, but not all Macy's stores have them, so you have to call in ahead of time if you wanna save yourself a trip. ORRRRR you can go to a MAC store itself, and they can custom match your foundation/concealer there. Plus, the good thing about this brand is their Back-2-Mac program, where when you bring in 6 empty makeup containers, such as eyeshadow, lipsticks, etc...(not 100% of what all is part of that though), you'll can pick out a free eyeshadow or lipstick. If you go through makeup rather quickly, it's a good thing. ;)

so the only dept stores nearby are Penny's, Dillards, Kohls & Belk - so I guess that leaves out many brands

I have hard to match skin tone and found bare essentuals worked perfect. It also doesn't make me brake out I find they key is well moisturized skin before application.

I started using Mary Kay a couple years ago and swear by it! Their under eye concealer and eye liner are the best I have ever used and are water proof so they do not smudge. I also used the mineral foundation, blush, mascara, lip liner/stick, etc and love it all!

I hope you are the passenger?

:lmao: I was thinking the same thing! LOL

I would go to one of those department stores and have the girls try differnt makeup on you. Also Estee Lauder gives you samples of foundation to take home, so probably the other ones do to. If you find a girl you like at the counter it helps too..I keep going back to estee because the girl helps me out and even takes care of me before others! I like clinique too but I don't like the lady :thumbsup2

Proactiv has a great foundation. I also use GLO MINERALS. This can only be found in the cosmetic surgeon's office, or of course.....on EBAY :)

I use Clinique Almost Powder Foundation. It is a one step powder foundation. It is the first powder foundation that I have found that gives me enough coverage.

2nd that, it's a great foundation, and do-able in the car!

I used estee lauder double wear. I used to use the kind the OP used but switched to this. It drys real fast, it is hot where I live and survives that and looks great on my skin without the caked on look. My mom and my oldest DD love it too. I tried the mineral makeup and this last 10 times as long and looks great. I just got my mom some and some mascara off esteelauder.com with free shipping, gift wrap and free samples. Now that I know my color I will order from their site again.

ThaNks for the info- i'll check out these products! No m not the passenger - I typically do it sittng in the driveway b4 backing out - ocassionallt once I get where I'm going

I used the Clinique Almost Makeup Powder for years. It's a good product. I now use the Avon version of Bare Minerals and I love it. I don't wear much makeup at all, so it works out perfect for me.
