Ok, my computer at my actually house has problems right now. Im using another computer right now. Anyways my computer at my house is off. Like permanatly off. Its plugged in Ive checked every plug on every part of the computer 3 times, there all plugged in tight. I go to turn the computer on and all you hear is it getting started then it shuts off, its like, rrrrrrrrrrrr and then it dies. The noise only stays there for like 3 seconds then it goes off. I need help, my moms tried a bunch of stuff and everything but it wont work! I need help please, I have all my game files that im working on making, saved pictures, saved music, and a bunch of website files and everything Please help.

How old is your PC? Do other items work when pluged into the same power outlet?

Without knowing anything else about your system, it sounds like it might be the power supply gone bad. Or, perhaps a short in the low voltage side.
(edit - just reread your post, but it can't hurt to check all the plugs again!)
You might want to check the connections inside, be sure everything is tight. FIRST - uplug the computer. Then I'd take the cover off and check all the plugs. Look at the wires and make sure they aren't interfering with the fans, especially the one on the CPU - if it's getting too hot it might be shutting off like that.
Check the power switch assembly on the inside, maybe it's getting stuck?
If your power supply has one of those 120/220 switches on the back, make sure someone didn't switch it to the 220 side (younger brother or sister??)

Sorry I can't be more help. Ned

My pc is nearly brand new and custom made for me, and Im not sure about the second question.

Does it sound like your Hard drive is going ddddrrrr zooooo stop? If it's not your power supply your ram might have static or something on it or a magnet near it.(same thing happened to my computer one day when I got home from school). Just take out the RAM chip clean it with a static free cloth or something that will take all the static and dust off it. Then put it back in and reboot.

check your cpu fan. If your fan is not spinning then your cpu hits a threshold heat and shuts itself down to protect from burning out.

GL, hope thats all it is
