Hello all,
My family was set to head for Disney on friday, however, thursday of last week, my wife was diagnosed with a rare leukemia. Well our trip is of course off since she is now undergoing a treatment that will hopefully stop this disease. We were able to exchange our disney dollars, and we bought trip insurance so our hotel money will be refunded, our agent is working on our flight. Does anyone know how I can get rid of our tickets? We have 2 adult and 2 chidren 7 day Park Hopper plus tickets, bought with the 5% off Disney Club discount. Any help or suggestions are useful (plus all the prayers we can take-her name is Sue).
Thanks always,
Todd Brown

sorry to hear about your wife. i will say a prayer for her and the rest of your family.

your tickets are good forever. so if you plan on going sometime in the future you may want to hold onto them.

if not, have you tried calling disney and explaining? maybe they will buy them back.

Todd & Sue,

My thoughts & prayers are with you. Use the tickets to celebrate her recovery.

I'm not any help with the tickets but just wanted to offer up prayers and good thoughts for your family!

Sending my prayers to Sue. Todd, why don't you keep your tickets and plan a trip for after Sue is all better!:sunny:

Todd,

I will keep Sue in my prayers along with the rest of your family.

I think that Disney would probably be most helpful to you, why don't you give them a call and see? You never know.

If that doesn't pan out, I would be in agreement with everyone else. Hold onto your tickets and when Sue is feeling better you can plan a big celebratory trip!

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I would hold on to the tickets as well.

If you have little onesholding on to the tickets for a time when Mommy is feeling better would be a tangible expression of your faith that she will be better and will help them to have faith as well.

if you can't hold on to the tickets or exchange them, I would look at ebay and see how much you might get for them there.

Sorry about your wife and you will be in my prayers.

Very sorry to hear about your wife's illness--she and your family will be in my prayers.

I agree to hold onto the tickets...a Disney trip would be such a wonderful recovery celebration!

My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I would hold on to them - you can always use them on a future trip!!

Just posting to let you know I am keeping your wife in my prayers. I think what some are saying is a good idea, hold onto them to celebrate your wifes recovery.

Thanks for the prayers. I may call Disney, but will probably take all the advice and hold them.

I just said a prayer for Sue and your family as you go through this ordeal. God Bless you all.

As an RN who has worked with cancer patients, I can add that having something positive to look forward to can inspire people enduring treatment. Sometimes it's a wedding, or the birth of a baby in the family. For your wife, a trip to Disney could be that focal point, that light at the end of the tunnel called "chemo". How much more special will that trip be when you know you have reached the "other side of the mountain"! I'm with everyone else, keep the tickets!
I feel for you. A very similar experience happened to a family friend of ours in Dec. His wife's diagnosis is Lymphoma. It was discovered 2 weeks before their trip to WDW.

I totally agree with crazymomof4 (I've had the smae experience as a nurse) and the others. WDW will give her a good reward to look toward.
Sending more pixie dust and prayers your way.

We'll keep you and Sue in our thoughts and prayers, as well as the rest of your family.

We'll be looking forward to seeing a positive update in the future.

Take Care.......

Just an update. Friday, Sue had to be life flighted to the Cleveland Clinic Intensive care ward. She began bleeding in her lungs and was basically drowning. They have her on a respirator, and heavily sedated. She is making great improvement and we (the doctors and us) are hopeful of a recovery. This has been a nightmare.

Thanks for all the prayers, I need many, many more.
Todd

Prayers for your wife and your family, Todd. I also pray that you have the strength to help your wife and family through this tough time.

God Bless,
Karen
