Hi everyone, I need some help figuring out how all of this works.

We are planning a family vacation to Disney World next year, Nov. 17-24th 2007(Thanksgiving week) and have decided to stay at the Wilderness Lodge.

I am trying to figure out the best way to book the vacation. I have the Disney Visa, do not have AAA but would considering getting it. I don't really understand how the codes work. If I book through Disney, is there just a place I keep looking for special codes and when one comes out I just call them to get the price adjustment. If I've booked through AAA can I use a code, or am I stuck with their price. Is there any advantage to using my Disney Visa (other than the points), do they sometimes have special codes just for them.

And I know we want the 7 day park hopper, but are still deciding on the dining plan. Can I just book the room and park hopper and add the dining later, or should I just book the room and add the other stuff later. Or should I wait until we decide on the dining plan and book it all together (I'm trying to figure out if there is some kind of financial advantage to booking it all at once).

Anyway, I would appreciate any and all advice. I've been to Disney world before, but it was 11 years ago and with no kids. Thanks in advance!!

GO BUCKS! :cheer2:

I am going through the process right now. We currently have a AAA room only discount for POR in January - 20% rack rate. The percentage varies depending on the season and resort type you choose. We are going to buy our tickets seperately. The current package being offered is standard tickets upgraded to hopper + waterpark and a room discount. The package is about $83 less that my AAA room and separate tickets.

You can look at the different seasons and percentages at allearsnet website.

You cannot combine a code with AAA, it's either one or the other.

Codes come out for different groups; visa card holders, Florida residents, general public, etc.. They also have limited booking times and also limited availability.

I think you can book the room and tickets and add the dining plan at a later date.

With the room only reservation, you dont have to make final payment until arrival. If you purchase a package, total payment is due 45 days out from arrival. Thats not to say you couldnt book the room only then close to your arrival date convert to a package plan.

Hopefully some of this rambling will be helpful.
