This year was the first time I went on a roller coaster which was Splash Mountain. Which roller coaster do you think I should go on next that is not so wild.

If Splash Mountain was your first one, then I would suggest Big Thunder Mountain next. Work your way up to the big ones! Good luck and have a great time!

Next to Splash is the Big Thunder Railroad. ... its a great roller coaster for novice since its not really a big drop.

Also... my wife (who is a big baby) loves the spinning roller coaster at Dino Land in Animal Kingdom... Primemortal Swirl (name? Sp?)

Stay away from Rock-n-Roll Aerosmith.... very fast, very cool, very smooth, but one scary heck of a ride!

Technically Splash Mountain is a log flume not a roller coaster. Like OP Big Thunder is a safe bet. But there are some good coasters at IOA and SW if you want to take the plunge!

If you've never been on a roller coaster and are sort of chicken (I know I am -- LOL!), then try Goofy's Barnstormer, and then Big Thunder Mountain. I can do both of those, but am too chicken to do Space Mountain, or Rock-N-Roller Coaster, or Expedition Everest. I hope you have a great time!

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only big chicken about riding the roller coasters. I did ride Splash Mountain but I had to hold on and close my eyes during the drop. I didn't even attempt any other things with a drop, but if Thunder Mountain doesn't have any drops, I may try that one next summer. And my DD11 didn't want to ride Goofy's coaster, so I didn't think about that one. She's a daredevil, unlike her mom, and I think she thought she was too grown for anything in Toon Town so we just kind of passed through that area. She got her face painted there and didn't want to stay around.

OMG!!! I am 38 years old and I LOVE Barnstormer!! LOL. I hate hate hate most rollercoasters, but that one is just my speed lol.

On a side note: I surprisingly got on Rock N' Roller Coaster and liked it. Felt a little odd going that fast, but it wasn't horrible, I think it was because my fear is falling out and you are really really strapped in. I did Splash once during a trip and did not like the drop, so you would probably be good with Barnstormer and Rock N' Roller Coaster if I was lol.

I'm thinking that if you can handle Splash, you can handle almost any other mountain at WDW. I love love LOVE  Everest and Big Thunder, but every time I go on Splash--just as we're climbing that last big hill before the drop--I really wish I hadn't gotten on that ride!!!
Everest is kinda wacky, but it's so smooth and fast that it doesn't bother me. Try the very front car--front row--it slows the experience down, and you can enjoy the scenes/Yeti. OTOH, try the very last car/seat for Big Thunder, and it will be the "wildest ride in the wilderness!" Both are lots of fun, and I'm no coaster enthusiast.
I don't like Space at WDW (love it at DL, though--go figure), and this trip I'm conquering my fears and getting on RnR.
Oh, yes, also love Barnstormer--but it's just too darn quick (short!)

I'm in my 50's, wife in late 40's and our daughter is 10. She wants to ride them all when were there and I've got a bit of a quesy stomach, but I've found all the WDW coasters to be more family friendly than at many other parks. Our favorite is Expedition Everest, followed by Aerosmith's, then Space Mountain.

Though thrilling, they're all pretty smooth and tame as compared to what you'll get at Universal's IOA on Fire and Ice or Hulk.

Try them all at WDW, I think you'll agree they're for the whole family, not just teen thrill-seekers !

Space Mountain is a lot of fun and no big drops. If you did OK on Splash, which scares the pants out of me because you're not strapped in, I think you would like EE. It's very smooth, but it does go backwards for a bit if that kind of thing might make you sick. It didn't bother me, but DH has motion sickness and he almost lost it.:scared1:

I would NOT go on RnRC next because I like coasters and when that thing took off, I thought I was going to have a heart attack! It kind of hurt my head and neck too. Didn't stop me from going on it again though.:lmao:

ok to start with I hate rides, the 1st time I went to disney I didn't ride anything ... seriously; which is something that now amazes me. My 2nd time though I went with my best friend (it was our graduation present) and I rode everything granted I learned I will never do the TOT again (scared of heights). What my best friend did though was on our 1st day we did MK and we did goofy's brainstormer, to 'pump me up'. Her logic was that it was almost the same as the 3 moutains but bigger still same speed. To this day I will only ride WDW roller coasters, they are not that scary... this is coming from someone who never rides anything.

My 1st favorite is Rockin Roller Coaster it is very fast in the dark but fun, I really like the aerosmith music you listen to while on the ride.
My 2nd favorite is Space Moutain this one is wooden and in the dark, very jerky.
Then Big Thunder and Splash rank about the same with me.
