OK, I've posted before with questions about our trip in June. It now turns out that we are looking at November 9th-14th. We'd be pulling DD out of school for 2 days. So I have some questions that I hope you all can help me with.

1. We have decided on the Poly. Should we do Lagoon View or Garden View Concierge?

2. I'd like 2nd floor without a balcony. Is this possible? Or if it isn't, how easy would it be for my 2 year old to get out of the door to a balcony?

3. How should we book this? Through a travel agent? Call Disney? Buy lodging, airfare, tickets separate?

4. How do I get transportation from the airport to Disney?

5. And finally, are we crazy to attempt this with a two year old and a 6 year old?

We want to go when DD is still young because she's so into the princesses!

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help and for these boards! I'm learning so much!

One more thing: Have you ever taken your child out of school? I've mentioned it to the principal and he said that a couple of days would not be a problem since I've given advance notice and DD is a great student. Also, she will only be in first grade. She won't miss tons. I am a teacher myself (on leave currently) so I understand the importance of education, but this is just the best time for us to go. Also, I don't want it to be too crowded for our first experience. Not to mention that we have a two year old along too! Thoughts?

I would expect all rooms at the Poly will have a balcony, but the sliding door is pretty heavy, and the lock a bit complicated for the average 2 year old to handle. It wasn't until DD was 3 she got crafty enough to open the door.

As for airport transportation, I love doing the town car service. You get some help with your luggage and delivered directly to your hotel. We've always used Tiffany, I know others have had equally good luck with other companies.

As for booking, I would look into the packages they are offering right now, as they have 7 nights for the price of 5, but I'm not sure how long they run.

November is a great time of year, wonderful weather and the Food & Wine Festival!

Have fun planning!

1. We have decided on the Poly. Should we do Lagoon View or Garden View Concierge? Great choice!! We are going Poly concierge on Sunday!! I understand that both views are wonderful at the Poly. You just need to decide if seeing the castle from your room is worth the extra money.

2. I'd like 2nd floor without a balcony. Is this possible? Or if it isn't, how easy would it be for my 2 year old to get out of the door to a balcony? The 2nd floor of the Hawaii bldg does not have a balcony. I think they do have a sliding glass door, but just opens up to wooden slates or something like that. The first floor rooms have patios. You may want to consider that b/c you and your spouse can sit on the patio when kids are sleeping... I agree that those doors are pretty heavy for a 2yr to open. But... that is up to you.

3. How should we book this? Through a travel agent? Call Disney? Buy lodging, airfare, tickets separate? I would call disney direct. I've used travel agents before for my wdw trips but I prefer to do it myself. Especially if you are going concierge. They will make your priority seatings for you, etc. As for air fare, go on-line to the big sites and register your routes for notification of when the fares come down. They'll email you when the fares drop and you can snag a good deal.

4. How do I get transportation from the airport to Disney? We drive.

5. And finally, are we crazy to attempt this with a two year old and a 6 year old? It's perfect!!
:teeth: :teeth: Just be sure that you don't try to do more than your kids can handle. Be sure to nap and enjoy the resort and you will all have a great time. The poly is wonderful.

I wish you a magical trip!

We love going in Nov. (14-19, this year) as it's less crowded and the weather is much more pleasant. I have no problem pulling my two little ones out of school (at least while they are young). Once you go during that time of year, it's hard to ever fight the heat and crowds again. Enjoy your trip!
