Called this morning for our Oct 8-13th trip and couldnt get anything for BWV or BCV. They had a one bedroom but there is 7 of us this trip. I ended up picking two studios at VWL and waitlisting for the others. I love being close to Epcot and MGM and the excitement of the Boardwalk. I went to VWL last year and it felt so dark and quiet, and what was up with the frog noises??? Please cheer me up....what are my chances of waitlisting coming through? Should I continue to call or just wait! My kids are going to freak when they get home from school....I need to get in a better state of mind-HELP!!!

Well, first of all, I'd tell my kids to be thankful that they were getting to go to WDW at all.

The time you are going is when Epcot's Food & Wine Festival is on, so the Epcot resorts sell out quickly during that time. That's probably why there's no availability.

Stay on the waitlist, and call them regularly. That's what I did last year, and I ended up at the Boardwalk in a 2BR for 9 days during the F&W Festival. I got the last night on the day before we were leaving, but I got it!!!!

if the VWL is not to your liking, why not try OKW. It has a lighter, brighter "beachier" or more tropical theme. And there is usually availability there. And it costs less points/night than any of the other resorts.

Wow.... I guess it's true...buy where you want to stay.......

GOOD luck... I hope you get what you want......tell the kids to keep there fingers crossed......I think the waitlist will come thru!!!

FYI, I was waitlisted when I called @ 9:00 a.m. for studio 10/8 last week, did get all my other days though. Booked 1st night for cash - yikes! Sure hope my WL comes thru.

Was told last week that there was extremely limited availability & to call ASAP for remaining days.

A "hot" ticket...although I had to twist DH's arm, he luvs WL, especially when leaving the MK late @ night for a quick retreat.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the input!!! I did some replanning for my park and dining schedule and I actually like it better. We were planning on eating alot at the monorail hotels so maybe being a boat ride away is pretty good. I am hoping to do the dining plan and get tix to MNSSHP. Someone told me tuesday night may be one of the nights offered-anyone know for sure??
My sister is coming on this trip with us and she was really hoping for Boardwalk. She says VWL is just too dark looking. I guess she should be glad with wherever I am taking her....they are my points afterall!!! Thanks for the help!!!!! :cheer2:

WOW... what is the attraction that week?

What is the highest demand time... Thanksgiving, Juky 4th, Christmas, New Years???? (Outside Spring Break)

well, look on the bright side...you're in a lot better shape than ALL the people who want to come and don't have the vacation time....most of them aren't even in the same state - let alone WDW!! so, I guess what I'm saying is...do the happy dance because you'll be there!   and besides, you can still visit the Boardwalk...it's just a short bus ride away :teeth:

my bf and I didn't even attempt the "almost impossible" - we're booked at our "home" for Oct 29 - Nov 3 to enjoy MNSSHP and our anniversary...and we're thrilled to be there! now relax and start having fun planning!

It's Columbus Day, many states up north have 1 or 2 school days off that week.

Pres. Day/Daytona is a real killer too. Check out www.touringplans.com for a park occupancy schedule through out the year.

You may just have a chance! I have a reservation for a 2 BR at BWV for those exact days that I will probably have to cancel this weekend. Try calling Monday to see if any days open up!

MS is going to love me when I try to go day by day to get a 1 and 2 bedroom unit at BCV 10/15-10/19. I will remain in a constant state of having all of my fingers crossed until they come through. Waitlist bound I am!

As promised, I get to say "I told you so" regarding certain resorts becoming harder to book. I think I'll have a few more chances to get this in over the next few years though.

We went last year at this time because it is Canadian Thanksgiving on the 9th.... short work week for us so that might add to crowds !???

Chances: Really Good DisneycrazedX6 :thumbsup2

Cheer-up :cheer2:

I booked DAILY and got all but a couple of nights on an extra studio BCV and a 2BR BCV for mom and family October 1-7. Went on waitlist. Within days, I was please to find (online) that my reservation was completely fulfilled

You're on the list early at 7 mos....you should be fine. Best wishes, good luck, don't worry, 'cause i think you'll be surprised soon.

p.s. Did you book some nights already? Did you auto confirm? I did both and it works :sunny:

I was originally booked from Oct 9 till the 12 in a studio and the 12 till the 17th in a two bedroom. Today I moved my days so I will be in a studio from the 10th till the 15th and a two bedroom from the 15th till the 20th. I am still waiting for 3 of those days, but I opened up a few days for those of you looking at the BCV. The 9th opened in a studio, and the 12, 13, 14 opened in a two bedroom........so you see, there is hope for all of us on the wait list. I think the key is to book what is available and put your name on each day you need one at a time. This way if only one day opens up you can grab it! That is how I have mine set, and I figure we have months to hope. I guess if I start getting too close I will move over to somewhere available maybe OKW. Can we exchange ressies if we want to??? If I had a day booked that I wanted to change and you wanted that day, can I transfer it over to you rather then just cancel it???? We could totally use this board to find days that way.

October is getting busy more than ever before. We went last fall break for two weks and with the F & W festival, MNSSHP and Fall Break & Columbus day More & more people are going then . When we went at Spring Break this year it was less crowded. I may be switching to Spring Break again.

Hope you have a great time, :thumbsup2

I got the last three days of our vacation (October 23, 24 and 25) at BCV in a 2 bedroom at the seven month window. The rest of our two week vacation is at SSR. I phoned early 3.00 p.m. in UK!!!! on a day to day basis. I could not get the sunday 22nd but phoned a couple of hours late. It turns out we have a UK DIS meet at Raglan Road on 22nd so will be much easier if we are still at SSR.

I love DVC

I had 3 days on the wait list for BCV each as a seperate wait. I got one of the 3 today!!!!Yipee! I must not be too far down on the waiting list like I thought! I still have 6.5 months to go. I am confident I will get the room!!! :thumbsup2

I booked at BWV for a 1-Bedroom Standard on 8-31-05 for April 6-15 of 2006 and got it, but on Feb 16 2006 my oldest daughter and friend decided to go. So I tried to get a 2-Bedroom and could not. I went on the waiting list for either a 2-bedroom or a studio( as none of the days I needed were available). As of March 16 2006 I have all the dates I need in a studio room, except 1, for my daughter. She has to move 2 times but at least she has a room at BWV. I thought that is pretty good for getting it less than 2 months out and for the week before Easter.
Just today I checked my DVC member page and seen that I got the last day I needed. She is in a standard room for the first 3 nights then moves to garden view for 6 days then back to standard room for the last night. It just so works out that the four days she is in standard rooms are the weekend nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night of one weekend than Friday night of the other weekend. :thumbsup2 Only 7 more days till I am Home!
Good luck with your dates.

There is also a cruise I believe that is wrapped around that same time period as the F&W fest, DVC cruise I believe, not 100%, on top of all the other things such as breaks and presidents day and other things that other posters have mentioned.

This is an exceptionally busy week no need for people to get all upset that ITS HAPPENING we cant book our resorts we want already! :thumbsup2
