I want to reserve a 2 Bedroom Standard View at the BWV for Dec 20 through Jan. 1st. (2009) The twist is that I want to pay cash for the Friday and Saturday nites of Dec 25 and Dec 26. I am a BWV owner.

With the new system of calling for seven nights at a time, I am not sure how to proceed. I don't want to blow my chance of getting the BWV for NYE. But I won't have enough points to get the whole time on points. What would you do? When would you call?

I'd call January 20 and book the first 5 days and then on January 27 for the rest of the weekdays and hope for the best.

I am wondering if it will even be possible to get 12/25 and 12/26 for cash - especially since you want a standard view. (Not sure those are offered for cash very often, so you'd have to move). Do you know if anyone got 12/26 and 12/27 for cash this year?

Any chance you would consider a Preferred View? That would be easier to get. I think the Boardwalk Views would be easier than the standard views.

Well, I guess I could do a preferred view but I would want a boardwalk view if I spend the extra points. Can you tell I am worried? LOL.

I have enough points to do a 1 bedroom standard for most of the time, around 11 nights total.

I used to do weekends on cash for SV rooms at BWV, then about 2 years ago MS said (and it was confirmed here) that SV rooms would only be available for points, not cash. Ditto for 2BR 2Q at BCV around the same time, btw. Prompted me to get an add-on for both resorts in order to have enough points to pull it off without cash nights. It's probably worth an advance call to MS to check on the policy for cash nights / SV rooms before you invest lots of time in strategizing...

HTH,

HTH,

Thanks so much, this will help me decide what to do. You know, after listening to Pete go on and on on the podcast about the Poly concierge, I might just book that for those two nights. There are only four of us going, and we could tough it out for a couple of nights at the Poly. Hmmmm....

Okay, Poly concierge is 760 per night plus tax. Ahem. Uh, WHAT?

LOL. ;)

Maybe I should think about a point transfer.
