This time I'm asking for help making up my mind. I have the opportunity to attend a conference in Orlando. It would apply to my job and I think be some great information for my job. It's at the Gaylord Palms but conference rooms are sold out and the alternate hotel is Radisson Celebration. The conference is 4/1 to 4/4 so I'm thinking I'd come in a day early and leave a day later. I'd be by myself, probably, and I'm not sure how much free time I'll have. Hopefully, I could get over to WDW the day I got in the day I leave but I'm just not sure about this whole thing.

1st - I've never gone to WDW alone.
2nd - We don't have a lot of extra money as we're planning for dd's wedding yet I can't imagine going to Orlando without going to wdw
3rd - I don't know anyone, yet, that's attending the conference but I can usually make friends easily
4th - I don't want to stay at the Radisson but all the shuttles go from there to the conference
And finally - who wants to go to a conference when you're next to WDW?

or am I just being a wuss?

Ok - do I go, stay home, any thoughts?

I'd jump at any chance I could get to go to WDW even if it's just for a part of a day. I assume you don't have to pay for the conference, just any side trip to WDW you might make? If so, I'd say that a 1-2 day ticket isn't TOO expensive in the grand scheme of things. I have spent a fair amount of time in the parks alone when my DH needed to rest and I wouldn't hesistate to take a solo trip one day. You know you love WDW, so don't worry about being alone. And if it's going to be beneficial to your job, by all means, go! The rest will work itself out.

I see in your little ticker there are only 13 hours til you leave for WDW!! YOU lucky thing!!! Have a great time!! If you wouldn't mind.. point the sun in the direction of the mid-west.. we have snow coming in tonight and tomorrow!! I think it will miss us.. but poor Yodasmom is in for it..

As I write this, my little ticker says 3 hours! Well technically I'll be asleep in 3 hours and I will be airborne in about 10 hours. Just popped online to print out my boarding passes! :cheer2: And pop into the DIS one last time, of course!

I will do my best to steer the sunshine up toward you, but I have to point it to Boston also. They're predicting snow for Monday when we return. Yikes!!

I would see if your company would pay for a car (and Gaylord's parking) if you stayed at a more reasonable hotel. POP is just around the corner from Gaylord. You'll be onsite and have a little Disney fix this way. Stop over on the solo board..we guarantee you'll love solo WDW

Have fun!!! Enjoy!! Can't wait to hear about it!!! I'm going to Target tonight to look for those puzzle pieces so we can get on the swap calendar!!! :)

It looks like the Orlando conference is out for me and Dallas Tx is in. Not my first choice but in going over the options, my boss has decided that the one in TX would be more beneficial than the one in Orlando. I wonder if he remembers that I've gone to WDW on vacation and is afraid I won't go to the conference? Actually, I'm just teasing - he's a great boss and would trust me to attend the conference presentations, then go to WDW after!
