I'm looking for a vanity table for my sixteen-year-old daughter that my younger daughter can also use once she gets older.
I'd like a simple table that's very inexpensive. But so far, the cheapest one I could find was at Target--the Simply Shabby Chic Vanity Table for 89.99. :/

Anyone know of any good deals out there?

That's actually a pretty good price. I spent tons of time looking for one a few years ago, and not only are they hard to find, they are $$$. JC Penney's has a few, but you're not going to get a better price.

You could look at some estate sales, but that takes time and gas...

That Simply Shabby Chic line is actually really pretty and well built. I have several pieces of it (bookcase, dresser, above/behind toilet thing, etc.) and love it. If you want something cheaper, go to a flea market, that's where I got my own vanity table- it's old, and nice heavy wood with a built-in mirror, and was about $20.

What about buying a small cute console table and a vintage chair. Then purchase a large rectangular wall mirror at Big Lots Furniture and make something unique? Just an idea.

I went to Target's site earlier because you inspired me (I thought DD might like one :)) and they have one that is $75 too - it's iron and white. Pretty :)

I always see old writing desks at second hand stores. They just need to be refinished or painted and they would be perfect. Just add a hanging mirror and a cute chair and voila, cute, vintage vanity that no one else will have.

The drawers will hold all her makeup, makeup accessories, hair accessories, jewelry and so much more.

I use a writing desk with a hanging mirror and side chair as my vanity table. It's larger than a regular vanity table would be, but that's OK because my bedroom is actually too big, and I need the larger furniture to help fill it...

Look at antique stores/flea markets, etc. I found a really old vanity table w/ etched mirror attached at an antique store for about $30. I stripped the dark finish off, sanded, and painted white. I then took pink tulle ($2) and made a skirt for the opening. I lined the drawers with leftover wallpaper from her room. It served as a diaper changing station when my DD was a baby and know it is a vanity. I also found an old chair for $5 and also painted it white. Very well built and sturdy and the uniqueness (?) of the piece is priceless. ( I already had the white paint and varnish from other projects so -- total cost $37.)

I did the same thing, using the desk that was in my room when I was a girl, you know that yellow and white french provincial set that every girl had? lol I painted it an antique white, added glass draw pulls and hung a white iron wall mirror over it and beautiful cushioned parsons chair. Everyone who sees it wants one in their room!

if they can hold off a couple of months both sams club and costco usualy carry inexpensive ones for christmas-i got one with a drawer and a cushioned seat for less than $80 a couple years back.

i've also seen ones that were just an old sofa table (the type you put behind a sofa for photos-very long but not very deep) with a mirror hung on the wall behind it-in fact a realy attractive way to do it is to get a great looking framed print at a garage sale and take it to a glass shop to have a mirror cut and set in the frame (think realy ugly old wall pictures but nice frame).
