I believe you can return online items from Old Navy to the store for free. Piperlime has free returns and on the Piperlime site there is Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic which all allow store returns if within 45 days. Athleta allows free returns online. I've had wonderful customer service with Piperlime and super easy return policy.

If you already have the items, then you have to deal with the company you purchased them from and their return policy. If you would like to avoid certain stores in the future, then that's a different question.

Zappos.com doesn't change a return fee and they also pay for return shipping. They sell both clothing and shoes. Their prices are hit or miss though -- sometimes you can get a good deal and other times not so much.

well, yeah, i know. ? that's the problem. lands end, eddie bauer, they all have fees.

and i mean return by mail. if i had stores nearby or a car i would not be ordering in the mail.

My sister has been banned from QVC because she consistently returned more than 50% of the items she purchased, and QVC will pick up return shipping.

shoes.com has free ship back for returns. DD(4) wears a wide and they are hard to find around here (except for Stride Rite which DD can't wear because they fall off her feet), so we order a ton of stuff from them. Not only are their returns free, but their shipping is really fast. Most of the time the shoes hit our house about 2 days after they are ordered.

Amazon.com used to have free returns for clothing - at least they did last summer. You probably want to check that it is still available before you trust it though.

Their other returns you just have to pay return postage.

Can't you return the Lands End items to your local Sears?

Only if your Sears carries Lands End. The local store and all Sears stores within 100 miles have quit carrying Lands End in the last year and now won't take the returns. So depressing!

If it's an item I think I'm really going to want, and there is a possibility of a return, I usually buy the item in the TWO sizes I think will fit. This way, I still have to return something and pay for it. But, I'm likely to get one size that fits.

Also, I never just buy one item anymore. If I can't find two or three items I want, it's generally not worth it. Shipping back one item costs a minimum of $6. But, the extra pound for a couple more items is only a dollar or two more.

Also, some places have free shipping if your order totals a certain amount. So if I buy two of the same items in different sizes, (going over the free shipping minimum,) and still return the wrong size, I've only paid for shipping one way. :)

Right now, the way I figure it, considering how expensive gas is to drive to the store & back, it costs almost as much as the return shipping.

Zappos.com and shoebuy.com both have free shipping and free return shipping. And zappos has a 365 day return policy. And Shoebuy doesn't charge sales tax(except NY state). Both websites sell shoes, clothing and accessories. Also, I can often find coupon codes to use on shoebuy...regularly 20% off. Plus, if you sign up for their free membership you get an additional 10% off.

Seriously? I have never heard of anyone being banned from a shopping network. Sorry but I got a chuckle out of this. :rotfl2:

With many companies I find there is no fee if you don't use their return shipping label but rather use your own label and just fill out the return shipping info on the package and pay shipping via usps or ups. The shipping charges are usually cheaper too.

I don't really understand what you're asking. Are you trying to return the items you already have to a different store or trying to avoid fees in the future?

If you get a L L Bean Visa card and use it for your L L Bean purchases you get free shipping, free return shipping and free monograming and you earn $10 coupons just for using the card. :thumbsup2

My sears also stopped carrying Lands End in the last year but thankfully, they have continued to accept returns from online orders. I just returned my son's jacket that was too small couple weeks ago. Asked them and they said they will always take returns even though they don't sell them.

or stores nearby (or a car) I would not be ordering on line for mail deliveries.
